My daughter is about to start her final year of Uni doing a psychology degree. Ultimately she wants to work in criminal psychology but...being her dad, I have my own ideas 😆

I cant help but feel we should have some clever psychological qualified people in the space, especially when ai look back and remember how governments around the world utilised psychological techniques to ensure compliance during the 'lock downs'.

I live in an ex communist country. People here were tried in made up trials, with fake evidence, by state controlled judges, often executed. Borders were closed, people trying to cross were shot on sight. My grandfather worked in a uranium mine for raising his voice. Kids of politically unacceptable parents were not allow to go to college and could only get a job as janitors. Everybody had to vote, but there was only one party to choose from.

That is communism.

I don't ultimately want to live in a world where we all have to hide like roaches from authoritarians. I think the only path forward is to stand together and crush the minority that wants to enslave us. They should be the ones running when the fucking lights come on. Evil should live in the shadows. The rest of us belong in the light.

I don't know how to solve the problem in Brazil, but I don't think hiding is going to be sustainable in the long term. I think doing so will only further embolden the rats. Unfortunately, some people will be punished. That's the price of freedom sometimes. No technology is going to save us from having to fight for freedom and suffer the consequences for doing so.

I post here under my real name and photo (usually my image) because I've decided that I'd rather die free than live in the shadows. Does everyone have the privileges I have in the US? Absolutely not. My way isn't for everyone everywhere, but I don't think hiding is ever going to be a real solution anywhere. The chances are pretty good that most people around you feel more or less the same way. We are being dictated to by a minority. Fuck 'em.

The most obvious preparation for this kind of thing would be resilient communication which can bypass state shutdowns. Which i guess means that is task one.
