GM. It works! Built my subwoofer server and have #bitcoin core running and syncing. Once I put the front grill back on and put it in a corner, no-one will even realise what it is.

Will check temps regularly but I don’t think it will be an issue.

Hi. I’m setting up a #bitcoin node using old PC parts and putting them into a dead home cinema subwoofer.

It’s made of MDF and was wondering if anyone had experience with wooden cases and the potential pitfalls.

Do I need to keep the components far away from the wood or would half an inch be fine?

I know I could buy a cheap case but thought it might be cool to recycle old stuff.

I realise the PSU is much more powerful than I need but it was lying around and I’m hoping it will only use the power it needs.

Any advice on the build would be very much appreciated.

Ooh, nice. My first PC had 4mb of RAM, 640x480 monitor and a double-spaced 60mb hard drive. I still remember the day I managed to get hold of a second-hand SoundBlaster sound card.

Looking at my bookshelves, I see an overwhelming majority of male authors but I don’t think I’ve never chosen a book based on the author’s gender. I used to queue up at midnight for the new Harry Potter books and have read many female SF and fantasy authors, such as Ursula LeGuin and Octavia Butler.

I definitely don’t base my reading on the protagonist’s gender. Who would not love Modesty Blaise, Greg Rucka’s Tara Chase or Lyra from His Dark Materials, for example?

They’re even more useless if, when you are charging them, you still can’t use them because the charging port is in the underside of the mouse. Like the Apple Magic Mouse, which is amazing in every other way but that.

This is one of my all-time favourite movies. Peter Sellers once again showing that he is one of the most underrated actors ever.
