Bringing Agorism to the world, one decentralised, chain-agnostic piece of crypto-infrastructure at a time. Cast.Garden, Peerhub.app, Agori.host, PalmPay.io Nostr/Matrix/Blurt/Hive: @Agorise

I recently gave up on Hive. The corruption over there is way outta control. The chain is literally controlled by 3 or 4 guys. Moved to Blurt (also a fork of steem) and have never been happier. I earn more on Blurt and where downvote censorship and funds theft is impossible. Hive stopped growing about a year ago and Blurt has been growing like crazy. Videos on blurt.media run really well too: https://blurt.media/w/gbA6r9TrpAgZAcgeEVLyfc

Here is just a test post to see if peertube videos can be embedded and/or linked to on coracle.social...

just a link:

https://blurt.media/w/gbA6r9TrpAgZAcgeEVLyfc

embed code:

i know i'm not editing the actual html here in this textarea, just testing this out. it would be great if the user is not taken off of the nostr front end tho to watch the video..

Now that Cast.Garden free, #Podcasting 2.0 Certified #Podcast #Hosting has been launched & more Podcasters are onboarding, we're open for interviews.

Let's talk about the importance of syndication, cross-network integration (#mastodon, #hive, #pixelfed, #nostr, etc), cross-app comments & multiple sources of #income for #Podcasters, & their audience.

Discoverability & user-engagement are everything.

# The new Great Library

We have all heard tales of Amazon or other booksellers banning customers from their bookstores or censoring/editing purchased books. The famous [Project Gutenberg](https://www.gutenberg.org/), and similar organizations, are performing a good work, to help protect many of our precious books from this fate, but it is merely a centralized website and therefore not censorship resistant. Also, it mostly posts books in English or German.

So, we at nostr:npub1s3ht77dq4zqnya8vjun5jp3p44pr794ru36d0ltxu65chljw8xjqd975wz have decided to move Project Gutenberg to Nostr and house it in the most distributed way possible: on relays. Specifically, our new, public [Citadel relay](https://thecitadel.nostr1.com/) for out-of-print books (and other documents), but also on any relay, anywhere.

And, because we are a very humble group, we're naming the effort "Alexandria". And the first book to be printed on Nostr is the Bible because *obviously*.

## Why on relays?

Well, why not on relays? Relays are one of the few widely-distributed databases for documentation in existence. The relay database spans the entire globe and anyone can maintain their own relay on their personal computer or mobile phone.

That means that anyone can house *their own* books.

Which books are their own? Any books they have in their own possession. Any books someone would have to physically pry out of their cold, dead, computer.

## Notes are perfect for publishing

Once we begin generating eBooks from notes with an associated header (which will be quite easy to do, so long as they are written in markdown or similar), they will also be readable, downloadable, and storable in ePub format (see [Pandoc](https://pandoc.org/epub.html)). And it is, after all, only a matter of time until someone enterprising makes an ePaper Nostr client for calmer reading of notes, and then you can download and read them, without having to bother converting beforehand, which maintains their Nostr-navigation.

The new event kind [30040](https://wikifreedia.xyz/nkbip-01/) allows us to take any sort of note containing any sort of characters and create a type of "note collection" or "book of notes", "journal of notes", "magazine of notes". And it can be nested or embedded in other notes, creating any sort of note-combination and note-hierarchy you can think of, only limited in size by the ability of your computer to processes the relationships.

## Save the Zettels

The associated kind 30041 adds the prospect of breaking longer texts or articles up into sections or snippets (called "Zettel" in German). We can then collect or refer to particular bits of a longer text (like a chart, elegant paragraph or definition, data table), directly. Anyone can create such snippets, even of texts they didn't write, as they can add a reference to the original publication in the tags of the new event.

This means we no longer have to "copy-paste" or quote other people's works, we can simply tie them in. If we worry about them being deleted, we can fork them to create our own, digitally-linked version, and then tie that in. This means that source material can be tied to the new material, and you can trace back to the source easily (using Nostr IDs and tags, which are signed identifiers) and see who else is branching out from that source or discussing that source.

## It's gonna be HUGE!

We are making a big, beautiful library... and you are going to build it for us. Anyone, anywhere can therefore publish or republish any document they wish, with Nostr, and store it wherever they have a relay, and view it on any client willing to display it.

You will own something and be happy.

whoa this sounds coooool :) i can imagine subscribing to my favorite authors with my rss aggregator app (like grayjay, fountain, etc) and pulling the books (text, images, embedded peertube videos etc) right off my favorite nostr relays. cool stuff!

Sony Bluray discs... I wonder if Sony had anything to do with the development of D.E.W. (directed energy weapons). Blue lasers, blue roofs that reflect that color perfectly, similar to the Bluray discs. Or maybe I just smoked a bit too much today. #reaching #conspiracy #dew #sony #bluray #dvd

they can if they're coded to do so tho

Jack Dorsey says algorithms can figure out what kind of content you like to see, so eventually there's no more need to "Follow" anyone, ok but where is that knowledge stored and utilized from..? Is that knowledge encrypted across relays and can only be unlocked by the one user with the correct private key? Or is that knowledge stored openly on relays that anyone can read? #nostr #jackdorsey #algorithms #bluesky

I had that thought as well. After the last reset, there were definitely orphan trains and baby incubator stores all over the place, but there still had to be some sort of methodology they used to think all those names up. Grrrrreat, another f*kn rabbit hole..

chicken/egg... Question: Where did the tens of millions of last names come from? We get our last names from our parents & grandparents etc, but the further you look back, the smaller the world's population. At some point, population was only in the hundreds/thousands so... wtf?

Organized religions are designed to give you the answer that you want, to end your search for truth and constrain you into their belief system. Leave the System and never stop your search for Truth.

i want to buy some more LN sats somewhere with zero kyc. i haven't had a bank account in 6 years. btc fees are like $88 right now and I'd rather dump some altcoin anyway. anyone know where I can do this? #buybtcln #buylnbtc #zerokyc #fukyc #sats #zaps #nostr

Imagine a front-end UI (web or mobile) that enables Nostr, Hive, Mastodon, Peertube, Dero, Friendica, BSV and many other network users to all chat with each other, instead of having to use multiple UI's or bridges for each network. No more walled gardens or vertical/siloed communications. In about a week I will reveal (imo) a pretty sweet solution for this.

yep, a simple local db stores the path in a temp table (or just a flag field) and folder, allows edits up to n minutes, then moves the data to the master table and bucket and begins cacheing. #damus #coracle #snort allowing edits for a limited time would be much better ux.

In July, yes. Recurring and "streaming" payments on livestreams and patreon-style Creator monetization. This month's Peerhub v9 release is just the basic nostr integration tho, then zaps, then the above. Poco a poco as we say here :)

Yep, vigilante.tv, flatearthdave.tv, cast.garden, beetoons.tv and others are using the software in its current iteration. It is being rebranded right now from "hive-tube" to Peerhub. The src is on npmjs git and the website I made for Peerhub is ready, but I will launch it around the 15th of this month since I want the code committed on npmjs first. The readme will be there as well and linked from the new website :)

Imagine going to a youtube video, then commenting on it with your nostr account, not a google account. Imagine replying to a mastodon user's comment with your nostr account. Imagine a Hive user replying to your nostr comment, etc. My plan is to even make it possible to zap other users on a non-nostr front-end using federation, Hive's public blockchain and rss.

Our Peerhub software already does most of that now, but I think that by adding Nostr support, we get a lot more conversations going on a video which in turn increases the amount of shares of that livestream or podcast etc and in turn getting the Creator more views and earnings through the syndication. I made a little website for Peerhub too and will launch it around the 15th of this month.
