you do need altserver and the mail plug-in running, but it should install right on top of the previous version, I’d double check, but it should keep all the settings associated with the bundle id. If you want to revert just do the same with an older .ipa

I’ve opted not to make an altstore “source” which would let me push an update, because this feature is locked in their patreon closed beta, when they ship that to the main build ill do it this way.

I’ll probably launch a sideus account for update announcements in two months when the 1.5(4) TestFlight expires, so people don’t have to follow my other ramblings. I might mine a vanity pubkey by then.

in other words, use zap stream instead of streamelements, streamlabs, or socialbuzz, or for the boomers irc, until we figure out how to do this actually decentralized.

I would like to see file relays, and maybe take a look at what web 3 is up to with decentralized streaming and walk it back from tokens.

I think we would be wise to encourage just using major distribution platforms, YouTube, twitch (the way that wavelake offers distribution through traditional channels) as there is discoverability of the whole system through that one creator found on Spotify or in this case on YouTube. The question arises, why does this streamer have 100 views and no one’s in chat, then they see the pinned comment, chat & donate on zap.stream. And YouTube & twitch (non-affiliate program) are totally ok with this.

umbrel box is a bit overpriced, by all means support what they do, can save a couple hundred buck by going with something equally or higher spec’d that fits a full size m.2

it’s probably better to be live stream first… one can always “premier” a recorded video through a live stream and then drop the link to the video in the recording tag. Disincentivizes mass uploading of jacked content, unless you willing to host that yourself.

I’m getting at the juxtaposition of

1: using a web app that saves preferences or last check notification in the cache, which is fine, but when you clear the cache it loose your preferences.

2: nip 78 - that sends a note to a relay, so you can freely clear the cache or go to a different browser, and your preferences get pulled back down. There are multiple layers to why this isn’t preferable. The shallow being it lacks granularity with a signing extension because it’s all one kind, but preferences (infrequently changed) and the last time you check notifications (relatively frequently) are different.

I don’t really have a problem with the first one, it’s probably preferable to offer a download file of preferences to move browsers. It’s just funny to me that I bark about both.
