just migrated my rails apps from render to kamal. works pretty well. using sidekiq, redis, postgres and db backups to s3.

Always wanted to use Kagi but thought it's a joke that a privacy search engine requires you to create an account and pay with a credit card? Athenut wraps around the Kagi API and lets you pay for searches with Bitcoin. Every individual search is paid for with ecash which means that you have no account and your payments can't be correlated to your searches.

In the background, Athenut has an entire Cashu wallet built in that is almost completely hidden from the user. All the user does is to pay a Lightning invoice and see how many searches they have left. It's made for grug brains who want to be free. You pay, you search, that's it.

This is simply amazing, I've been dreaming about this for so long. It's only the beginning. We're going to make Error 402 great again!

Name must still make sense to non-bitcoiners and non-nostr users. don't go super heavy, a play on words probably makes most sense.

Name must be catchy, clear, easy to say, 2 to 3 syllables max.

Think something clever like nostr:npub1key55ax33gkl50uqemvl4khrtqrhzm7wzpc7fhseutt5ddkcwcrqgxlt3h but since they have the best name ever. We are on the hunt for the next best name.

Just deployed a Rails app with Kamal on Digital Ocean. Took me a while to figure out some SSL issues, but other than that it's pretty sweet.

Initially, I didn't want to spend the whole Sunday on this, but it's basically almost done now. I started building a nice server-side renderer for long-form content on our Nostr relay:

The next step is to create human-readable URLs, i.e. `/@username/article-id`. But my favorite feature will be `/@username/articles.rss`, because if it doesn't have an RSS feed, it's not a blog.
