Indie game developer, procedural generation enthusiast, Dane in Finland. I made Eye of the Temple, now working on The Big Forest.
For decades I've been using Gmail with its "send mail as" feature to have my own domain (runevision.com) appearing as the "from" address. Today I experienced a mail outright bouncing due to lack of SPF or DKIM authentication.
A bit of research reveals that without paying for Google Workspace, there's no way to fix this. Regular Gmail's "send mail as" feature is broken in practice, as email handlers such as Yahoo will now categorically reject mails using it. 1/2
