SimpleX is something that I thought about years ago. One use case is for temporary group chats. E.g. you go with some friends to an event, so you set up a temporary group. In addition to using QR Codes, you could use device NFC with a tap-to-join approach. Some good B2B possibilities, too.

I'm using them for DCA, with both on chain and lightning withdrawals. Lower friction DCA imho.
