Yep I've been here for a while. And you know what's funny, I actually just finished reading that 4th issue I was talking about only to find out it wasn't the end and that I must've read it wrong because there's a 5th issue coming next month haha

I agree, it is great for experimenting and trying out ideas quickly. For example, I asked it to help me make a button boing a little bit and it sent me the CSS that I just pasted in. I could've looked up how to do that another way, sure, the transitions it does aren't that complicated to understand. But I didn't have to, it honestly only took a few seconds of work and now that button boings like the best of them.

As for the spaghetti code, that only really happens if you're trying to build some complex functionality and jump around a lot, or if you're trying to build an entire application without really understanding software. It can leave junk code behind, especially if you jump around a lot like me.

I do understand how to write code, I'm a Web Developer by trade and in my experience, using AI and cleaning cleaning up after yourself as you go is still faster than searching for the answers and typing it all out yourself. And it's definitely faster than typing out a very specifically-formatted question only to wait 24 hours for a condescending reply.

Something almost every #SciFi story gets wrong when they're talking to someone from another planet or galaxy or whatever, is time.

Our measure of time comes from how fast the Earth is spinning and how long it takes for the Earth to make a trip around our Sun.

People from different planets that are spinning at different speeds than Earth and that take wildly different amounts of time to go around their Suns would have no concept what we mean when we say an hour or a year, or any Earthly measure of time.

Actually, I've never seen one get it right.

There are planets out there that go all the way around their Sun faster than they rotate, making their days longer than their years.

Finished up Ghost of Yotei and started #Stalker2 on #PS5. I gotta say it feels SO GOOD to be back in The Zone!!!! And they did such a good job, it's amazing! Always loved the Stalker games except I didn't play the online one, but it's been too long old friend! And by 'old friend' I mean hostile environment that makes scary sounds, has freaky, mutated monsters and tries to kill me in so, so many ways.

Loving the new graphical effects of the anomalies I've seen so far, some of them really are damn near invisible if you're not paying attention. And running is ill-advised in The Zone, especially when it's dark. You've been warned.

I find myself actively refraining from searching the internet for answers when the solution isn't obvious for some reason. And I'm okay with it, I've walked away from a couple markers on the map without searching the internet for the solution or exact location of the thing I'm looking for, and it's somehow a little bit liberating? I'll either try to be more thorough in my searching of the area or, instead of looking on YouTube or whatever like I normally would, I'm finding I'm strangely okay with just leaving and telling myself I'll just try again later when I come across it next time.

I'm going to take my time and explore and not ruin any of it by looking online

Maybe it's just me, but these days I am totally cool with waiting a year (or even 2) to buy a game, until they've finished most of the major updates anyway. I feel like there's always some amount of time after launch for game to become the game they originally intended. And also my backlog is long.

I was just re-reading the original #Marvel #SecretWars and I noticed something. On the last page of issue 9 they show a close-up of Dr. Doom's face and his eyes are definitely blue. But on the cover of number 10 they're definitely brown.

It seems pretty healthy, but if you want to trim it a little just snip off the branches you don't want at their base. Then just give it a little drink once a week or so.

Finished my first run-through of the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster on my phone today. I took a Thief, a Monk, a Black Mage and a White Mage for a spin and had fun with it. Now I'm starting a group of all mages for funsies, 2 Red Mages, 1 White Mage and 1 Black Mage. I have nostalgia for this game and some time to kill every day so it works out, and it's perfect for chipping away at in short spurts

Okay so I played the original Dragon Warrior (it's called Dragon Quest now) on the NES when it was new and I always wondered if the little tail/tip on the slimes was supposed to be slime trailing off into the distance behind them, or if they were supposed to be like a Hershey's Kiss? Someone eventually went on to make one in 3D and I guess that answered that 😄
