Bitcoin Mastermind 3rd Quarter 2024 w Joe Carlasare, Jeff Ross, and America Hodl

I always know I'm going to have a good day when Preston Pysh drops a new podcast episode. This one exceeded expectations.

If you haven't listened to his latest "Bitcoin Mastermind" with Joe Carlasare, Jeff Ross, and America Hodl, I'd urge you to give it a shot.

Preston only does these once a quarter, and they never disappoint.

I like to imagine that the creator of HBO's upcoming "Money Electric" is orange-pilled, didn't discover who Satoshi was, but just wanted a chance to interview a bunch of awesome bitcoiners and orange-pill normies via HBO.

I'd love if the doc ends with something along the lines of, "...maybe in the end, we're all Satoshi."

GM and happy Friday nostr!

Have some coffee (or don't) and a great day!

Bolts is a non-custodial wallet that allows you to hold an on-chain balance and a "L2" balance.

The L2 balance is held in Liquid, but you can pay lightning invoices from your balance there.

Ultimately, I utilize this tool to consolidate small UTXOs over time before withdrawing more responsibly sized UTXOs.

There is also a privacy improvement, as by nature of Liquid, the UTXOs you send, are obfuscated from the UTXOs you withdraw.

Aqua uses boltz for their on-chain/Liquid to Lightning exchanges.

As with any new tool, only use a small number of sats to play around with it and familiarize yourself with its operation before using it with any more substantial amount.

For more info on Liquid, here's a link: https://help.blockstream.com/hc/en-us/articles/900001408623-How-does-Liquid-Bitcoin-L-BTC-work#:~:text=Liquid%20Bitcoin%20(L%2DBTC)%20is%20a%20special%20type%20of,Federation%20on%20the%20Bitcoin%20mainchain.

That said, I think it runs on boltz, which others have already mentioned.

Could just cut out the middle man, but I've enjoyed Aqua, and it's at least a good tool to familiarize yourself with.

Aqua Wallet would be great for this. No KYC, and a relatively small fee.

Hi there, I'm glad you enjoyed my story! I'm US-based. In hindsight, I could have added more information on my #OnZero workflow. I will likely do so in a future article.

Basically, I spend on credit throughout the month while directing all my income into bitcoin. At the end of the month I sell the bitcoin needed to pay off the credit cards and pay my monthly fiat bills.

While I still technically touch fiat, this arrangement allows me to be maximally allocated to bitcoin at all times.

While this model makes sense, during bullish periods, I do question whether it might not be logical to hold more fiat bear markets. Philosophically, I don't want to. But we'll see what the future holds.

Damn it. Was in such a rush to zap you that I zapped myself my accident.

That's awesome! I'm glad you enjoyed the story!

Very cool how many similarities our stories have!

I wholeheartedly recommend Fold if it's available to you. Basically gives me a bitcoin checking account. I can have my paychecks deposited there and auto-converted to bitcoin, hold a balance in sats, and push-to-card (sell) to pay my fiat bills.

I tend to put all my expenses on credit cards throughout the month, and then pay them off by selling some sats at the end of the month.

Best part, you can even get sats back as rewards on paying your mortgage or credit card bills!

Curious how I became a bitcoiner?

I just published my orange pill story!
