For a freer society with free individuals working voluntarily. Developer, technology, business, cooperatives, networker, etc. Based in Portugal. https://linktree.com/citizenpedro #europe #portugal #spain I also like Switzerland and think it has by far one of the most voluntaryist systems in the world. The medium is the message. Long live #nostr. Feel free to send messages :)

Nostr is the real Facebook.

In two decades he'll understand that.

His project lead to a dopamine drug-like addiction of lost souls (or retired people, let's be honest here :D)

Nostr will lead to new countries being formed.

Facebook will inevitably die, like Blockbuster (and others) did.

Nostr will renew itself forever. It is like a new internet in a way.

Boddhisatva is such a beautiful idea. I'm also on the path. Wish you the best, it's truly an incredible thing.

Buddhism is an incredible philosophy that maybe might play a more important role in the future than maybe we think.

Buddhism is absolutely not trivial and in my perspective contains the absolute elixir, juice, gist, core of all truly important philosophical, psychological, moral, ethical, spiritual and just overall human learnings of our common history until now.

In my opinion, our current time shows that it's really really hard to live without a common/regular/organized philosophy, religion, morality, etc, and in the absence of an organized/common philosophy/religion, people will just create a new one. It's kind of like if we're hardwired for community and philosophy/religions are the wires of that connection. It's going to be inevitable. And that's very important. We need to recognize this as humans.

Aristotle was talking about this in Politics 2500 years ago, i.e we're hardwired for politics (culture, morality, etc), or in other words humans will only be truly happy in a community (a polis). And that implies that we'll need some sort of binding culture, etc.

And they had many gods, virtues, etc. And thus we will most likely have to prepare ourselves spiritually also. Depending on how one thinks about spirituality and the world for that matter.

And anyways, maybe Buddhism could help us define or be the base of that common philosophy/morality.

One interesting thing is that it's an incredible lean philosophy and one that a lot of people have or use with something else. It doesn't have/need god, it's not theistic, etc, it's just a philosophy. And simultaneously it has very well defined moral principles.

It's really very beautiful in my opinion.

It is stealing.

There's really no other way to paint it in the end.

No matter the turns we give it, it's a form of stealing. Especially taking into account that it was never democratic. In other words, if there had been a referendum asking the people "would you like to subsdize EVs with X or Y amount, raising your taxes/debt in Z, etc, etc, etc?". That would be something else. But that kind of thing only happens in Switzerland.

So yes, especially taking into account in its current form, it is very accurate to describe all of this as a form of stealing.

Bastiat in the 1800's was already describing this kind of thing as legal plunder. That's exactly what it is. Legal plunder.

Rothbard also in the 1970s used the term legal plunder to describe these kind of very large subsidized government contracts, etc.

This is very very bad and completely immoral.

At a bare minimum we need to ask the people.

Exactly. I really think so personally. I think neutral play is good because it attracts really all kinds of people (old, young, etc), creating a more open, viral and sustainable effort. But this is what I think personally. Other people will find other ideas of course.

For example stuff like simply organizing events. All kinds of events. Ideally things where we have a lot of time to talk (an afternoon, a day or more), bond, etc, with time and ideally without alcohol (the idea is to have fun and not need alcohol), etc... for me it's walks, picnics, excursions, stuff that has movement and is not boring, this connects a lot of people, because it's a neutral environment allowing a lot of conversations and connections at a personal, professional levels, etc

Bitcoiners should just organize more events and meet more people :D

In the end maybe that's what will work better :)

Hi nostr:npub1jlrs53pkdfjnts29kveljul2sm0actt6n8dxrrzqcersttvcuv3qdjynqn

Thanks very much for the great work with Coracle!!

I have a quick question:

How can I mark Notifications and Messages as read? Because it seems like no matter what I do, it's always the same notifications (from months ago already some of them)

Coracle is really great work, I really love it and want to use it much more. There's a lot that I really like. The Spam WOT feature is brilliant and the Feed system with all the filters, including DVM access, etc. That's truly incredible. That's going to change the world in due time.

And then the Community/group functionality/ideas. This is going to be absolutely incredible.

Truly great stuff, thanks again :)

That's a very good point.

Just lately I've been thinking about the psychology of the whole thing too and how can I better communicate with people at that stage (statist mindset) while introducing them to Bitcoin or more transparent/meritocratic/entrepreneurial ideals.

My conclusion is that one simply can't change that mindset. In other words, I can't turn people that think like that into libertarians, etc. That's simply impossible. Meaning, it has to be with everything but attacking the existence of the State itself.

In other words, if we are to steer this kind of people "our" way, just maintaining a connection at a personal level with them is already everything. Just keep being connected at a personal level with whatever that person is doing. We need to find something that people like that we also do and connect with that.

The rest would come.

In other words, the Overton window needs to be very small because the distance between cultures is incredibly large. And thus, anything can work (or nothing can), etc.

Just being connected is already everything. The medium is the message in this case.

The only thing with Coracle.social is that I can't seem to mark notifications as read?

It's always showing the same notifications for a long time.

Could I be missing something?

Cheers and thank you :)

Is there a way to block the ReplyGuy on Primal or Nostrudel?

Awesome stuff.

That book looks very interesting indeed. Thanks very much for the comment and book.

I'm definitely going to be adding more mantras from Marcus Aurelius to my mantra list. I was just going through that book and here's one of the ideas there:

"If you are annoyed at something, it is because you have forgotten:

(1) that everything happens in accordance with universal Nature;

(2) that whatever fault was committed is not your concern;

(3) and, moreover, that everything that happens has always happened thus and will always happen thus, and is, at this very moment, happening thus everywhere;

(4)how close is the relationship between man and the whole

human race: for this is no community of blood or of seed, but of the

intellect.

You have also forgotten:

(s)that the intellect of each person is God, and that it has flowed

down here from above;

(6) and that nothing belongs to any of us in the strict sense, but

that our child, our body and our soul come from above;

(7)and that everything is a judgment-value;

(8) and the only thing each of us lives and loses is the present. "

Marcus Aurelius was using his notes to reprogram is brain basically.

From the book you shared it seems like Marcus Aurelius didn't have time to read books and neither he wanted to read more books. He just wanted the gist of the gist, what he called dogmas.

He was really focused in reprogramming his brain.

Great stuff!

"The obstacle is the way" - Marcus Aurelius

Did you know that https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cognitive_behavioral_therapy is basically (at it's core and in a simplistic way) repeating mantras that make us embrace the challenges that the world has brought us?

Repeating mantras really works for me when negative thoughts come into my mind.

So yes, try it out. Whenever you feel a negative (hatred, depression, delusion, etc) thought, i.e "this was so unfair", "why did this happen to me?", "I'm not good", etc, etc, etc

Just put it in a:

"The obstacle is the way" by Marcus Aurelius

"I cannot control the waves, but I can learn to surf."

"This too shall pass."

"Pain is inevitable, but suffering is optional."

"I am in control of my response."

"Everything will be alright."

Have a great day and remember the obstacle is the way. We're all going through it. That's the way.
