Old hens still got it! Occasionally.

When you first get your hens once they begin laying they will do so just about every day their first year. Then they start slowly down. It’s very normal.

My old girls lay about every two ir three days. My olive-egger lays less than that. Her beautiful green eggs are a happy break from all the brown.

Today seven of my eight girls earned their keep.

I LOVE hearing stories like that! I hope they turn out well. Some things are so modified that you don’t get a good result.

Carrot top leaves can be used like parsley. Here I planted about one inch of the top of an organic carrot, keep some green stems or leaves attached, in soil to let the top grow.

Letting this one bloom to see if I can get seeds.

The peppers you see here is a Jimmy Nardello variety. It will produce a large plant with beautiful elf shoe looking fruit.

They are great for Italian dishes.

The last frost date for me is still a month away. I have a small greenhouse on the back porch and I am so excited for the minute I can plant my container garden.
