We agree!! 😂 😂
Awesome! Would love to keep apprised of the progress. Go forth and conquer my friend!
All good. It’s a pretty amazing thing that people with such different views on the role of the government can still both be Bitcoiners 😊
Amazing. More constructive content = more people finding value in this great community
My post was uninformed and misleading. I just found the linked article, which says that in April 2020, the fed started counting savings account balances in M1 money supply for the first time, explaining the 500% spike at that time.
I’m baffled that they’d just trash the M1 chart like this. It’s now useless. If I did this at my job, I’d be fired.

Thanks for sharing. Seems like as a measure of liquidity in the money supply, it’s just reflecting what has changed. I can see how it’s frustrating that it’s a break in the time series, but it’s just showing liquidity at the end of the day
Anyone working on a #nostr client for kids? Thinking maybe parents could have some kind of multi-sig option for posting or displaying events based on parameters that they set
In Florida, it would have to be pronounced “guy”
I don’t see them that way. I see them as the cost of living in a society with a mix of public and private goods, rather than an atomized existence off the grid somewhere. As for bank bailouts, this recent one wasn’t a taxpayer-funded bailout (investors suffered losses; banks have to true-up the FDIC). Plenty of issues with the 2008 taxpayer-funded bailout, but would inviting financial meltdown once the horse was out of the barn have been a better option? Of course, this is all why we love #Bitcoin. But I also see the need for progressive taxation in this country
Dev friends: why does the JSON output of a note show the pubkey as different from my actual npub? I assume some conversion is happening there?
Ugh. “Sog factor”
Cousin Greg’s line about the “song factor” with day-old pizza was amazing #Succession
How about this:
“While it’s true that Bitcoin is energy-intensive, the use of energy is what guarantees the security of the network, so that Bitcoin transactions are tamper-proof. Also, Bitcoin miners are increasingly using renewable energy sources as well as energy that would otherwise go to waste. Due to the flexible nature of Bitcoin mining operations, there are many different ways that Bitcoin miners can contribute to a more stable, predictable, and sustainable energy grid”
To state the obvious, they’re not going to read this response article
This is the #1 argument I hear these days from my friends and family against #Bitcoin: it’s a major contributor to climate change.
I still need a 2-sentence reply that doesn’t tell them they’re an idiot but effectively summarizes the nuance of the issue (yes, I realize “summarizing the nuance” is an oxymoron). Any suggestions?
Are you saying the govt should just print money to pay for things instead of collecting tax revenue?
What’s a good, non-dismissive reply to someone who says #Bitcoin mining operations are very disruptive with the noise they generate? I haven’t actually been next to a big mining facility
Well, my 18-month old tried to eat the dog food again. So I’d say this week is off to a great start!
