Open networks always win. There are people all over the world collectively working 24x7x365 to make #Bitcoin and #Lightning better. There is no other system in the world like it. That’s why I am here with all you amazing people. Thanks to everyone who contributes from the educators, innovators, developers, to the Hodlers. 💪
That’s when you know you’ve found your passion. Godspeed #[1]
Internet’s native currency. It’s a beautiful thing.
That’s awesome! Spread the love! How can you see who sent the sats? I use WoS and it doesn’t say.
I guess I have a more optimistic view on the value Bitcoin brings to individual across the globe. We can either accept that governments will rule over us forever, or contribute in a meaningful way that helps shape the world the way we envision it.
Thanks for the conversation! Have a good night!
I don’t.
One item has value to one person (the one who wants to get high)
And the other has value to the other person (the one who wants censorship resistant money that can’t be confiscated or manipulated).
Both parties are happy and they each find different value in what they received.
If we get to a place you’re describing where the government takes away the right to private property preventing us from exchanging Bitcoin for fiat, my point is that it won’t kill Bitcoin and it will still be accepted globally.
There are no central exchanges to buy cocaine. The government has made it illegal to buy/sell/own cocaine; however, I can still buy or sell cocaine using anything from cash, Rolexes, weapons, or anything else the two individuals involved deem as money.
But there isn’t a centralized Rolex exchange. You’d have to find someone who wanted that specific watch and exchange it for cash. You’d have a better chance of finding someone who needed to exchange the Bitcoin you received for fiat IMO.
Sorry about that. Couldn’t you do the same with the Bitcoin you receive for someone who wanted to exchange it for cash though?
Not sure who just zapped me but wow! Thank you! 🙏
Smart man! If Rolex can be accepted as money without a centralized exchange, why can’t Bitcoin?
I would not recommend putting your private keys in a will. Instead, simply inform your loved ones about your Bitcoin and educate them on how to access it in the unfortunate event of your passing. Write detailed instructions for where to find the private key along with any other passphrase etc that you may have. Don’t overcomplicate your security setup. Our biggest threat can be ourselves sometimes when it comes to security.
If I told you I’d give you a Rolex watch worth $40k if you mowed my lawn once a week for 6 months, would you accept the offer?
Point being you don’t need an exchange for Bitcoin to be accepted as money.
Or someone like FractylEncrypt who only accept Bitcoin for his artwork and refuses to get paid in Fiat. There are plenty of people out there like him.
