I gave up on creating non-custodial Lightning Address for zaps and such. To effectively participate in the network with enough inbound and outbound channels, I think you have to keep a decent amount of bitcoin in a hot wallet. And that was making me nervous.
With all the rapid development occurring in Lightning, perhaps non+custodial use will become easier in the coming years. But until then, I'm happy to use Wallet of Satoshi for the small amounts for which Lightning is well-suited.
