Winter tornadoes tend to occur in the SE near the Gulf. They're difficult to track because they're often rain-wrapped or concealed by trees and hills.

The 2/10/2013 Hattiesburg, MS tornado was an exception. A low-end EF4 (170 MPH), this visible twister was widely documented.

The 2007 Elie tornado was Canada's only F5. Shown below is a 2-story home swept off its foundation and tossed 75 feet. The twister was unusual for its narrow diameter and path: it looped on itself two times and struck the same flour mill twice. Remarkably, no one was hurt.
