We need a Google Search for Nostr. Simple page: just the search field. Show result previews in the same way Google does. Click to open in your preferred Nostr client.

Yes.

Nostr.band API should enable this right?

God that would be amazing.

Unleashed.chat?

the normies don't know that LLMs are search engines

Not easy, right? Isn't the issue that it will be extremely slow like when you want to see your follower #s.

Googles centralized servers are what make search fast correct?

As well as thousands of servers.

fuck google

at least use brave or duckduckgo or qwant

i bet one of you psychos could make a good search engine out of one of the open LLMs that i keep seeing mention of

LLMs are search engines

LLMs are search engines

do i need to repeat myself?

LLMs are waaaay too expensive for this. 1000x more expensive per search.

there is a price?

openai makes it seem like there isn't

yay modern nonsense

So you never used any LLM? :)

The first 10 requests are free, the rest is like a dollar per request.

It'd be pretty neat if that search field also had a drop down for kind type, in layman's terms, too... or something similar... tabs seem like they would be a waste of resources

Ah, cool! I will have to screw around with this a bit😊

Way too complicated

unleashed.chat can already search nostr

Many clients have search. But that is not the request here. The idea is to find a homepage JUST for search and nothing else.

could it filter results by criteria such as number of replies, reposts, hearts, or sata zapped?

agree that calling it a Google Search is not contextually congruent. is there a different way to accuratey refer to an efficient search that can be filtered?

I wonder how this would work.

Example, let's say I want to search for "Nostr Clients".

Of all the pages I know that list out Nostr clients, I don't think there's one that is actually connected to Nostr, they're just html web pages, which makes sense. The result of the search would likely be a bunch of notes on the term nostr clients, which may not return anything particularly useful.

Maybe we need basic webpages that can be edited over time AS Nostr notes.

OR, just use lists..

This is the closest I've seen https://nostrview.com/search

You mean like https://nos.today ?

Yeah. That is awesome. Gotta turn the cache on to make sure results are immediate. But otherwise, great first effort.

what problem does this solve?
