While I agree with your stance on democracy (especially western liberal ones) I would not compare USSR economy or in general any communist country’s economy to western countries. This is different animal.

In communism economy is fake. People fake work, government (which owns everything) fakes paying them, fakes providing services. Taxes are fake because the wages are so low because government steals this money and then the money is just lost.

Military complex is enormous black hole which sucks all the capital from the economy. Military do not pay directly for any good or services it needs. If USSR wanted to move 5 armies 2000km for some propaganda set up exercise they just did that. Railways moved that stuff and never got paid for that. And it was in any case, any investment that went for military or general government stuff was just done and never paid. This whole type of economy is fake from the bottom to the top.

I just do not understand what are UAE and Saudis are doing or rather not doing and why. This region is going to melt down. Their businesses will suffer. If it is bout the money so what is the goal that they agree to sacrifice so much? None of them did anything meaningful to stop this conflict. They are silent as EU. I know they do not care about Palistinians. They never did. It was just a tool.

If the Israel-Iran war breaks up they lose. If Iran breaks apart there will be another mess in the region as if Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, Iraq wasn’t enough. Is Iran really so much threat for Saudi’s and UAE so that they will risk another full scale war in their neighborhood?

I just do not get it. All this wealth and supposed influence over the world and yet none of these guys can take care of their region. Such a loss.

Just remember that at 2022-2023 there were initiatives from Saudis, UAE to normalize relations with Israel. Then also China got involved and asked Saudis to talk with Iran. It was good start to resolve the conflicts. All this went shit.

Short time Russia is fine with that as USA and EU are busy more on Middle East than in Ukraine. USA and EU proved to be simultaneously impotent, incompetent and hypocritical.
