GM Nostriches, have a blessed day! #coffeechain

It's a great day for watching clouds and stacking sats.

The surfer rides the cosmic waves without fear. Embracing uncertainty, he navigates volatility with grace and confidence. Balanced and focused, he lives in the moment.

But sometimes, he fails. Sometimes, he loses control. His mind wanders, and he crashes into the wave, swallowed by chaos and doubt. Yet, the power to overcome lies within him. In the end, his own strength is all he has.

So, every time he tumbles, he doesn't despair. The surfer finds his board, drags himself back, and paddles out to ride those cosmic waves again. Struggle or greatness—it's his choice.

GM, have a great week! #coffeechain

Well, durian season has just started. It's "the king of fruits" (allegedly) and definitely fits the "strange" category 😃. A large spiky fruit with a very peculiar smell and taste... But on second thought, maybe you have it in Australia, too?

Today's Visak Bochea is a Buddhist holiday that commemorates the birth, enlightenment, and death of Buddha—a great time for visiting an out-of-town temple. The white, fluffy clouds were a nice bonus for pretty pictures. #Cambodia

More prohibitions? I can get behind these. I'm just confused why they hate plants. #weedstr

It is always disappointing when one cannot take his bombs inside the premises.

After over a decade in this country, I finally had my first Khmer language lesson. I'm quite ashamed it took me this long to start learning the language. Real-life communication has always been a bit awkward for me, so not speaking the language was a convenient excuse to avoid it. However, now I'm taking the plunge. Learning Khmer and stacking sats! 😊 #Cambodia

While cleaning out a closet, I came across this menu from the Coin Cafe in Phnom Penh, circa 2016. It's a relic from the days when a QR code with a reused address was standard—lols. The Coin Cafe was run by an American, let's call him Mike, and his Khmer wife. Mike was an early bitcoiner, using Bitcoin Core on his laptop as a wallet—a process that required syncing the blockchain for every transaction, which took ages.

Back then, Roger Ver was a hero to many Bitcoin expats in these parts. The fork wars led to a lot of confusion, but Mike put his faith in Bitcoin Jesus and followed Ver to Bitcoin Cash (Trash). Soon after, Mike started dabbling in shitcoins. In hindsight, he should have held onto as much Bitcoin as possible, of course. But things were a lot less clear back then. Mike struggled to make ends meet between managing the Coin Cafe—tucked away in a back alley—shitcoinery and other unsuccessful business ventures.

Eventually, he got caught in a peer-to-peer Bitcoin trade that turned out to be a man-in-the-middle scam. He received $10K from the victim and sent Bitcoin, unknowingly, to a scammer, who then disappeared, leaving the victim demanding his money back at the Coin Cafe. The situation escalated, the law got involved, and Mike decided his best bet was to leave the country in a hurry.

Just another example of how hard it is to hodl. In fact, hodling is the most difficult thing in the world. The simple act of stacking sats away in cold storage is profound if you can keep it up. However, life throws unforeseen challenges our way, and fear and greed are always lurking. So, while you look at this old menu, know that you are doing great. Just keep stacking, don't follow leaders, lower your time preference, and stay focused on the bright and orange. 🧡 💪 🧡

Going further down the rabbit hole of #bitcoin history in #Cambodia, I dug up this picture of the Coin Cafe from around 2016 (on Steemit, of all places 😊 )

GM beautiful Nostriches ☕ 🌞 💜 Just showing off my fancy new cup this morning 😁 #coffeechain
