Tradefi banking uses 56x more energy than bitcoin mining (I posted a link on this a couple of weeks ago)

I often say that if you want inflexible power producers (like solar and wind that you can’t ramp up when you need them like coal and gas) you have to have flexible customers. And bitcoin mining is the world’s most flexible customer.

Otherwise if you don’t have flexible customers, you’re stuck with needing flexible generators (coal and gas) so take your pick: no renewable energy transition without bitcoin mining.

3600000 J in a KWh so that amount of energy is 4.2million KWh or 4.2 GWh.

Current power of bitcoin network is 12 GW, so that would provide 20th a of power.

I spent a few days at the MicroStrategy Bitcoin and Lightning for corporations event.

Great event- exceedingly well organized.

Bitcoiners talking to finance, corporate sales, and tech people. Not just bitcoiners talking to other bitcoiners. That is valuable.

Microstrategy announced a sats reward program. They have extensive enterprise software sales relationships that they can use to sell this new product line. It allows businesses to offer customized sats rewards programs for employees, users, etc. So with the software, a company can easily offer sats for employees attending meetings on time, for users writing a review, for users filling out a survey, for meeting fitness goals, etc.

We will see how it goes, but I like this way of thinking. Many people don’t want to spend sats yet, but they do want to earn sats.

It's days like today that I am extremely grateful that bitcoin exists and that some of the smartest people in the world are working to ensure it's success by building tools and applications that help realize its full potential.

There's no stopping an idea whose time has come.

The current administration in the US is trying their hardest to stop bitcoin. Their efforts will be in vain and they will be remembered for the despots they are when bitcoin succeeds.

Preventing people from using bitcoin is one of the most evil things one could do right now.
