Seems every client behaves differently. I think all these NIPs should offer standards but not everyone adopts all of them and seems they are still being created.
Why when I view this profile:
nostr:npub1lkgdtveyde0sdmd0vgwdy2526rdj48rrg9xe9vskt27547mq9mzqd37f6g
in nostr:npub18m76awca3y37hkvuneavuw6pjj4525fw90necxmadrvjg0sdy6qsngq955 it shows notes from 1 month and older, even though there are many more recent notes that I can see in other clients??
While I don't agree with a decent chunk in the article, definitely no reason to take it down
It's a bargain compared to Berkshire Hathaway Class A
And yes a funny video. Looks like the guy who started it lost, to an apparently older man.
I was referring to comments not your post. I should have been more explicit, but didn’t want to post on multiple comments.
These comments about low testosterone today are bs. There have always been high and low testosterone men. Strength isn’t always physical. Maybe y’all hanging out in the wrong places. Go to a hardcore punk show, or a frat party, or a baseball game, or a biker bar. Plenty of young testosterone out there. Funny how the big ass weight lifting bros are the ones who need steroids.
I haven’t used start9 but I believe similar to Umbrel. Start with Bitcoin Node since it’s a prerequisite for other stuff. Let it sync 100%. I don’t know the technical reasons but you need Electrum Personal Server (electrs) on top of that. Then you can connect your wallets to it. You need vpn or Tailscale to access remotely. See what I mean by going down the rabbit hole?
I think Windows is so much harder (and uglier). But I’ve been using Macs since the 80’s, so…
Paying monthly for the cloud service, yes? If you run your own hub you only pay transaction fees, but it’s more work. I run it mostly out of technical curiosity and like you said support decentralized network and open source devs. Also if all this takes off good to have the knowledge and experience early.
Or, if you don’t want to deal with all that check out nostr:npub1getal6ykt05fsz5nqu4uld09nfj3y3qxmv8crys4aeut53unfvlqr80nfm cloud option.
* Install UmbrelOS on a mini PC, or buy an Umbrel Home (Start9 is an alternative).
* Optional vs VPN/Tor: Create a Tailscale account. Install Tailscale on Umbrel and any devices you want to access it with. Now you can remotely access the Umbrel server.
* Install Bitcoin Node and allow it to sync 100% (this can possibly take many hours).
* Install Electrs (Electrum server) and let it sync (if progress appears to get stuck after installation close the window and launch again from Umbrel or restart Umbrel.
* Install Lightning Node.
* Install Alby Hub. Join their Discord server and attend an onboarding session and watch videos/read docs: nostr:npub1getal6ykt05fsz5nqu4uld09nfj3y3qxmv8crys4aeut53unfvlqr80nfm
I’m not sure if you can run Alby Hub itself on macOS. Umbrel and Start9 can be installed on a mini PC and they have Alby installers. I access my Alby Hub on Umbrel with my MacBook. Go to nostr:npub1rxysxnjkhrmqd3ey73dp9n5y5yvyzcs64acc9g0k2epcpwwyya4spvhnp8 profile and find the video on Alby, it’s good.
nostr:npub1getal6ykt05fsz5nqu4uld09nfj3y3qxmv8crys4aeut53unfvlqr80nfm can definitely make it easier to manage (I run a hub on Umbrel). If you’re a business owner and have a billion other things to manage as well, and just need it to work 24/7 with 99.999% uptime it can be a challenge running on prem, but they have a cloud option too.
That’s cool. I see Yakihonne has an iOS app. What is your view about putting nsec’s into apps vs extensions with webapps?
What is all this?
