My Fairbuds XL stopped charging last night during a Budgie standup. They still refused to accept a charge overnight. This was after the joystick on the right speaker broke off like less than a year into use and I couldn't control music anymore from the headphones or use the joystick to power on / off the device. I had to take off the left cover so I could power on / off the device by removing the battery. Not to mention the battery was already swelling.

Truly a terrible device. Was going to cost me over 100€ in parts (entire new right speaker, plus new battery) and shipping just to probably get hardware that'll function for another year more. So much waste over just a well engineered device.

Decided to buy a proper pair of wired headphones again with the beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro X. Wow are they comfortable, light, and sound amazing. I forgot how good headphones can actually sound.

Please do yourself a favor and never buy Fairphone's Fairbuds XL. If you need wireless headphones, just roll with Sony XM4s or newer. They are objectively better. Otherwise treat yourself to a good wired pair.
