Okay, so when it comes to adjudicating the validity of this supposed pre-hangover drug -- to prevent hangovers -- I'm going to defer to nostr:npub1lms254v3v4hkgs5stk2vrcl945g5fryrd5dxkaag6hjjk4pyc8xqw8824x, who *literally wrote the book* on this science: https://boingboing.net/2023/08/30/zbiotics-is-a-new-pre-alcohol-drink-that-claims-to-prevent-hangovers.html
Adam, could this drug actually work?

Aha, those are two good drivers also!
Both are trends that have slowly but persistently metastasized across the corporate world ...

Yep, good point on the ipad! Even closer to a replacement for paper than a phone ...
For a long while, it seemed like the "paperless office" would never arrive
Throughout the 80s and 90s, as companies adopted computers, the amount of office paper *exploded*
Why? Because people were communicating more and more -- but wanted paper copies of those reports, emails, memos
Paper was superior to screens in nearly every way
But!
That may finally have changed

Over 150 models of cars have so ballooned in size that they no longer fit in car-parking slots, the size of which was set decades ago: https://www.theguardian.com/business/2023/aug/26/more-than-150-car-models-too-big-for-regular-uk-parking-spaces

Yeah very good point about the stability of spreadsheets over time
And yeah VBA was and is amazing at replacing rote clickwork!

Yep, thatβs exactly right β make a spreadsheet the gold standard. If a separate piece of software can exceed what you can accomplish with a spreadsheet, cool β¦ otherwise use a spreadsheet
nostr:npub1typ5we79rr527q30467hfz8ptfy0h8gxpmfn7j64ak6pk6pv4rfszzc8hh To some extent I would argue this applies indoors as well as many places don't like the extra costs associated with running their ACs more so actually just go ahead and turn the thermostats up more. A lot of stuff like ensuring people are properly cooled and hydrated needs to become just an official universal thing I guess.
