Yeah I assume it was black and white originally and this has been colored via some AI trickery

💯. Just listened to a TFTC rip from 4 years ago with nostr:npub1rtlqca8r6auyaw5n5h3l5422dm4sry5dzfee4696fqe8s6qgudks7djtfs

-Instead of nostr they were talking about twitter and mastodon. One option slightly shittier than the other.

-Stacking sats as a meme was brand new

How far we’ve come. Feels good to be winning.

Some should go back and curate a “best of” podcast playlist from pre-2020.

Would be wild to listen to who got what right / wrong and see how far we’ve come

They’re all losers.

“Trump doesn’t care about bitcoin” is the right statement and it’s also why he’s the much better candidate than an RFK or anyone else who cares too much about Bitcoin.

😆😆😆😆🤌🏽🤌🏽

I wrote why I replaced web5 DIDs with npubs recently. I’ve followed web5 for a longer, since the beginning tbh.

The link contains videos.

“Monetizing UX > subscriptions

I’ve replaced web5 DIDs with a nostr key pair for authentication in my app. The trade off is clear.

Web5 gave me instant accounts, which was great for distribution and made a super smooth user experience when it came to distributing durable “AI experiences” or microapps on social media.

However, authenticating with nostr comes with a network effect. Creating an account is very simple as it only requires a user name, and creates a more visceral “I own my data” experience. So not much lost in terms of time-to-first-AI, but more material offered out of the box.

This ownership of data is important because Bitcoin balances can also be carried across applications with nostr key pairs using the cashu protocol (an ecash protocol that makes Bitcoin more usable.)

However, ultimately, there is nothing that nostr can do that web5 cannot eventually do and I believe that web5 will eventually take the position of being a parent or a container identity for much larger scale work (think X, threads, etc), especially as more web5 developers organize and create incentivizes to build more web5 apps. But that time is not now, and nostr folks are very focused.”

Wow. Appreciate the great explanation!

Can anybody on here explain the pros and cons of NOSTR vs the DID spec from TBD ?

Seems like the over arching ideas are similar. Just different implementations?

Perhaps the TBD guys have spent more time architecting something cleaner?

But Nostr clearly has a much more active community & actual users?

What else ?

There’s a few reasons why this is actually the BEST way Trump could’ve closed his talk:

1. He’s the incoming commander in chief of the most important country in the world. He should be focused geopolitics and the big deals that need to be made for global sanity and stability - not on stupid bitcoin minutia.

1b) this is why I don’t like RFK. He’s simping way too much for Bitcoiners. He doesn’t have the presence or strength to take on the globalist shitfest. And certainly doesn’t have the balls to strengthen the US against other powers (Russia, China and globohomo).

2. It’s not a leaders job to micromanage & get in the way. In fact, I’d be worried if he was more interested in bitcoin. His job is to be aware, and delegate that to someone more interested and competent.

3. Bitcoin is STILL YOUNG!! I know some of you are naive enough to think we’re getting mass adoption this decade, but I’m sorry - we’re a 100yrs away.

Not only do we need to the space to build, which benefits from such a posture (good luck with your little bitcoin thing), but more importantly, bitcoin needs time to grow and mature BEFORE governments of any kind take it more seriously - let alone the United States of fucking America.

I have other reasons too…

But I’m hungry and want to eat dinner. TBC…

Definitely deepening the culture... Inspiring stuff

Thankyou my friend 🤝🤝

This is going to shake up the entire bitcoin space. I promise

And on the main stage nostr:npub1trr5r2nrpsk6xkjk5a7p6pfcryyt6yzsflwjmz6r7uj7lfkjxxtq78hdpu pitched to the room of people waiting for Trump about how Bitcoin is the best “ESG” investment in the world.

Wow. That sounds like the worst possible angle to pitch that crowd 🤦🏽‍♂️
