What gets me about the overpopulation trope is that if i ask any of these people who are determined this is a problem, not a single one I have spoken to is prepared to get rid of themselves and their whole family for the sake of the planet. It’s always some “other” people (usually in Africa) that have to be removed to defend against overpopulation.

My dad was the victim of domestic abuse and he vowed that that mindset and baggage would end with him. He vowed that my life would be different. He is the best dad I could ever have hoped for. Very grateful for him

As a child my father taught me that whatever I hear, no matter the source, that I had to turn it over in my mind, walk around it, kick its tyres, look under the hood and read up on it before I made up my own mind on it.
It was an expected thought pattern in my house.
I thought it was normal and that everyone was like that. That we all had to think for ourselves…
