Not necessarily a bad thing!
Middle class and many of its corresponding things are so overrated.
Always go for the best thing. If you can't afford it, always go for the most economic thing instead of in-between things.
This is my enlightment after spending 30+ days in various level of hotels.
Let's use computer/phone as an example first.
Always buy the best, and usually the most expensive, laptop/phone because they last for 5-8 years.
If you buy a mediocre phone, you end up having to get a new one 2-3 years.
The average cost per day is actually higher for mediocre electronics.
Buying the cheapest phone/laptop, on the other hand, might not be as nice, but can also last 2-3 years. Much better deals!
Same goes to hotels/housing.
The hostel I am staying currently, is 50 USD/night. The quality is as good as 150 - 300 USD/night hotels. The only difference is that I have to share the room with 9 other people (not fully booked in reality). But the common area has everything I need. The kitchen actually has better equipments than most 150 - 300 USD Airbnb / Hotels.
The 100 USD / night place is just much worse. Yes, you have your own room. But it's as depressing as a jail cell. No service, no nothing. This is the classic middle class trap.
If you are in middle class incoming level, don't buy middle class thing. Always buy the most economic things.
Then once you are in the high class, always buy the best thing. It's a much better deal.
As long as you are in the Fiat rat race, don't fall into the middle class trap.
Middle class consumption is the most scam thing in the world. Rich people have private clubs. Poor people have homies in the hood. Middle class people have no community! They just work for rich people and spend to rich people.
There is no dignity for middle class.
Staying at a 50 USD / night place makes me happy because it's a good deal. Staying at 500+ USD / night place makes happy because it's good service and I have this illusion of success. Staying at a 250 USD / night place just hurts my soul.
Oh, you know what's the most scamming thing for middle class? Mortage. Don't get mortage to buy a house. It's just a fiat scan to keep rat race rats forever.
If the amount of land is constant on the earth and the amount of bitcoin is also constant. In the future, the land price will always be constant and decreasing overtime because of deflation of bitcoins.
#foodstr Can you tell which food is cooked by me and which are restaurant? Pro Hint: The better ones are always cooked by me.
Restaurants are so overrated, just like Fiat.
Lmao. Americans are nice too. As long as you only talk to educated privileged people LOL.
I just had the most surreal experience. I went to the Japanese Embassy. The counselor lady has been the cutest and most supportive embassy official I have ever encountered in my life.
She spoke as if she actually wanted to help me.
This is so surreal because no government official that I have encountered before was this nice. If you think about it, even if she treated me like piece of shit, I still had to do whatever she asked if I wanted to come to Japan.
After nearly 50 days, I finally got my fiat document to prove more about me. Nothing has changed yet I suddenly has more rights. But not that much, I still don’t have the right to get a driver’s license yet. That needs to wait for 6 months.
But the government of this wonderful probably only spent 30 minutes to work on my proof of things.
30 minutes for government, 50 days for normal people.
What I, on the other hand, have done?
1. Assembled a team to work on Blowater
2. Blowater has received OpenSats grant
3. #ProjectT to print T-shirts for 3 other Nostr projects including Coracle, Habla and Nostream
4. Integrated CRDT into Nostr
5. Designed Encrypted Group Chat
6. 4 BJJ trainings which was the least work
In order to earn fiat on this island, I still need to go through more documents. It’s fundamentally broken.
If foreigners are not allowed to spend money as long as they aren’t allowed to earn money, government will speed it up quickly.
I would like to learn more about individual sovereignty.
Polymorphism and Data Oriented Design marry happily in TypeScript
The best feeling in the world is to reduce code yet gaining more features.
How is https://libera.chat ?
That been said, not all coins are created to be used as generic money. Coins created for specific uses have their places.
Yeah, most decentralized project probably don’t need to invent their own money. Just use bit and act as a layer 2 or side network. But technically speaking I don’t know how.
https://handshake.org/ very interesting project. Maybe we can migrate NIP05 to it
