This is a common thing in modern post WWII Asian cultures that we tend to discriminate towards our own skin. Tonight I walked into a store right before they would close. The stuff was still serving western customers while treat me with bad attitude because I deferred her leaving. This has been the first bad experience I have encountered in Japan but it was kinda a shame. I don’t understand Japanese otherwise I would like to say: fuck off and don’t bullshit with me.
Here is the rank in every Asian countries heart: Western whites, western people, my country, other Asians.
It’s a joke with some truth in it.
It’s not my fault but it always feels horrible to be treated differently simply because of my appearance. I know that 99.99% Japanese are not like this but I am more nervous when talking to people on the street today.
Arashiyama or Lake Biwa if I only have 1 day?
Wow, that’s a new use case I never thought of.
I will never use this horrible name lol
Absolutely, web of trust should be utilized. Each user should see a global score, a geo local score and a web of trust score.
Yelp like apps on Nostr is overlooked big time. Local businesses/restaurants reviews are very cultural. The most popular Japanese review app is not even on US App Store so I can’t use it. Google Maps reviews are heavily biased towards tourists from western countries. Therefore, it hard for me to find good recommendations of restaurants as a foreigner.
The best restaurant so far that I have been to was recommended to me by a Japanese user who was not my follower and might not use the same client even.
The power of sharing information across culture barriers is profound and can physically change one’s life for good.
Who’s down for Reviewstr?
Wallet should allow users to block payments or at least don't show comments of pays below a certain threshold.
5 sats advertisement is pure spamming. My price is at least 1024 sats for 2023.
What’s the special food in Kyoto?
The most bullish moment of nostr during #nostrasia.
Devs saying I cannot wait to be back and I have also many ideas to build
Ping nostr:npub1v0lxxxxutpvrelsksy8cdhgfux9l6a42hsj2qzquu2zk7vc9qnkszrqj49 and nostr:npub1dww6jgxykmkt7tqjqx985tg58dxlm7v83sa743578xa4j7zpe3hql6pdnf
I’m just fucking bullshit and I’m eating my own shit.
You play rugby?
I should be able to release a NPM package of https://github.com/BlowaterNostr/nostr.ts which is on Deno at the moment.
Version 3.0.0 is coming.
The source code is written in TS, but I will publish 3 distributions:
TS module
ES module
CommonJS module ( NodeJS )
The CommonJS module is ridiculous because most developer will transpile it to ES module during the bundling.
But, since most developers are still on NodeJS, I decide to support it for a while.
Migrating to Deno is the right move.
Not related but: If the final software is not to help the people, there is no honor in the hardware. The computing industry has long forgotten the importance of end user softwares. All the innovations have happened in the cloud space in the past 10 years and no progression for end user software.
Italy will be great. Lets travel the world!
Maybe Nostr is best used as a publishing platform instead of an editing platform
There is a vending machine and an ice machine. I guess the idea is if you buy drinks, you can add ice. I just got a cup of free ice because I don’t want to pay. Free water. Another 100 yen saved.
I wanted to work on similar things however this author is not so active in Nostr anymore
Here is my biggest mistake for the last 8 months
Not learning front end, especially CSS, properly. The ignorance of front end has wasted me too much time.
The deep reason is my arrogance to admit my incapacity.
#NostrAsia is just a new beginning of my learning.
