There’s bitcoin.
Then there’s a plethora of copycats trying to reinvent the wheel, some legitimate attempts at a business, some trying to extract people’s dollars, some outright scams, all adding confusion for everyone who doesn’t understand…
bitcoin.

Man, is it ever raining out there! Reminds me of the good old days.

Despite the fact that we’re a community and a society operating with a central bank issued token that is not real money and which is a form of legalized theft - most people will continue ignoring bitcoin until the financial pain is too great.

“Well, OK. It IS a Ponzi, it’s terrible for the environment, only criminals use it and the government’s going to have to bail us all out. You’re right…By the way how’s Billy doing?”

When you live on a bitcoin standard life gets cheaper over time.

I like to keep things simple: A little house in nature, knowing and helping neighbors, buying food from local farmers, not ordering anything I don’t really, really need from Amazon, driving a well maintained old truck and keeping my savings in bitcoin.
#Bitcoin #Mendocino
- bitcoin is NOT crypto
- bitcoin is NOT an ‘investment’
- bitcoin is technically ‘money’
- the dollar is technically ‘currency’
- the dollar is constantly losing purchasing power
- bitcoin is a store of value
- bitcoin doesn’t need a bailout

According to the math…
…life gets cheaper over time on a bitcoin standard.

“Headin’ to town this mornin’ to get me some supplies. (Or is it ‘get MYSELF some supplies?’)”

When you realize there's more to worry about staying within the current financial system than in moving to a bitcoin standard, you've arrived.
Most people avoid bitcoin out of fear, but it’s the current system that poses real risk as inflation continues to erode everyone’s savings.

The 🇺🇸 US Treasury releases report stating that #Bitcoin is digital gold.

I remember dialing up in 1994 when the internet enabled any entity - from General Electric and Sears Robuck to the corner store and even individual citizens like me - have a website. The internet was pretty flat and evenly distributed.
Then Google appeared around 1998, Facebook around 2004, YouTube 2005, Twitter 2007…gradually a handful of corporatized destinations became the internet.
The hope and vision now is that protocols like Nostr and sovereign personal servers (that are user-friendly and plug and play) all glued together by the economic stack that is bitcoin, will decentralize the internet again.
Our pwice pwidiction for bitcoin is ten billion million million gazillion thousand dollars.

The dollar is a currency that WAS once backed by gold. This history prompts people to ask “what’s backing #bitcoin?” This question highlights the misunderstanding: bitcoin is not like a digital version of a gold-backed dollar, instead bitcoin IS like a digital version of gold itself.

While people are discussing how bitcoin could become a neutral world reserve asset, don’t forget it also makes for a perfect local currency keeping value in small communities like ours and helping businesses and individuals save for the future.

Can I drink irresponsibly again when bitcoin hits $100K for the second time?

Me and the little lady decided to go out and have us a nice meal to celebrate $100K. She had the burger and fries, I had truffle-Laced Escargots in Puff Pastry with Black Truffle Pesto, served on a bed of sautéed wild mushrooms and garnished with micro greens and a drizzle of truffle oil.

People pay attention when #bitcoin’s exchange rate with the dollar surges.
But once you appreciate what bitcoin actually is, the problems it solves for humanity, the health and wellbeing it brings to individuals…this exchange rate becomes a side benefit, not the point.
