New BChat release is here! Let me know how you guys are finding it.
I know it's been a couple of days and not ALL of the feedback has been addressed, but a good chunk of it has been included to some extent. Other requests have been noted and are in the backlog for the next batch.
Noted this as a feature to implement. We'll definitely do stuff like this, in fact at some point it'll be possible to buy CashTokens letting you "invest" in a new user you see potential in and get a share of their post rewards.

The feed and algorithm is one of the hardest parts to "just quickly fix" and there will be a LOT of work coming up on that.
For instance, it's too annoying to have duplicates of replies/top posts, but then you need a good mix of replies vs top level posts - changing as posts go stale.
Paying for extra users is maybe a short term viable thing, but ultimately for long term value we don't want to just attract beggars by handing out small amounts of money.

There was a lot of excitement about the huge pump coming once MFI put their cash in. We haven't seen any giga pump yet, so either they haven't bought or they're just quietly doing it behind the scenes...

Indeed! Should be so simple and smooth to use that people make it a daily habit. That's how we're going to break through on total transaction volume.
Yes, the algorithm and the way posts display consistently in the feed with the right mix of top level and replies and so on certainly needs work.
Currently there is no easy way to know which transactions are BCHat transactions though, it's not in the OP_RETURN.
It could be figured out by scraping NOSTR, but that's a pretty big effort on the part of TXCity.
That does exist as a feature, it's just pretty busted and so only works some of the time (and I believe only while you have your browser open and listening for new replies). We'll work on that.

Great topic! For me, BCH just lets you be more chill with money, it's the way money "should" work. If you earn it, you can just sit on it - and it'll help you out by growing in value (over a long enough timeframe) until you need it.
Simple and effective.

I think once this concept is proven, other cryptocurrencies will copy it and it will become standard.
That's the thing, in BChat there is no 'likes' actually. A like is sending a small tip. And the post value is those tips plus any custom tips, plus reply funds. But all of it just sending sats.
There is no separate "like"s. There's no server to store them.
Maybe could be done via Nostr.
