Yeah happens a lot. Gives the impression sorting is done on the server side at specific intervals rather than just sending the data and let the browser do the sorting.
Binance owns cmc so could be all kinds of shenanigans going on there.
The narrative is crumbling big time. Failed to be p2p cash, fails to be digital gold, barely hear anything about Lightning adoption anymore and smug "zoom out" replies are getting weaker and weaker every cycle.
I posted, replied a lot and liked even more for 5 days straight now and have more sats in my wallet than I started with.
Helps to get a nice tip every now and then $1 goes a long way on here.
Possibly. I'm still pretty weary, with S&P500 near all time highs and those weird moves in precious metals, who knows what we're in for?! 😨
It does. I was referring to the fact that it's ridiculous to use custodial Lightning wallet to enable tipping on nostr.
Nostr itself is pretty cool, combine with decentralized P2P electronic cash it's even cooler.
True, Dotcom might be a bit too much of a heavyweight for now.
Perhaps Naomi Brockwell, she has some interesting takes and knowledge to share, I believe she already posts on memo, small step to also start posting here. I'm sure she can get behind an on-chain nostr based social media app.
Yes just needs to be a bit more reliable and at least have image upload support but then we can start trying to get for instance Kim Dotcom to post here.
He was behind Cashrain right? He's still a big BCH fan and probably has a ton of controversial takes that will lead to loads of interactions.
Which reminds me, while this is all decentralized, the App/Google Play stores might not be too fond of a wallet that allows access to all kinds of uncensored social media content. Even if they don't notice it right away I don't think I'm too paranoid in thinking some maxi might feel the need to post NSFW stuff and then report Selene to Apple or something.
It feels good being a BChatter, knowing maxis are over there larping with their custodial nostr lightning wallets while over here on BChat every interaction is fully decentralized and on-chain by default.
Hi! Welcome. How did you hear about BChat?
The Selene/BChat developers get your post fee. Replies and like earnings go directly to you, repost earnings are split 50/50 between original poster and developers.
I don’t think it was meant to show up the way it did for you. I too sometimes see replies (mostly my own, but sometimes from other users) as a top level post but then refreshing the feed shows them at the correct level.
When checking out the transaction history txs seem to be completely unordered, for example I’ll see all transactions I did over the last 4 days but they do not seem to be ordered by timestamp in any logical way.
Lots of them have hourglass icons indicating no confirmations, but tapping on them well bring up the detail screen that says it’s confirmed in block xxx.
No transactions are missing and the balance shows up fine though so nothing too serious but I thought it was odd since the Selene app with the same BChat wallet imported shows history correctly ordered.
We probably need to beef up our Fulcrum node count for that haha but yes that would be awesome.
It'll already be a huge boost for morale when BChat starts consistently make a difference in the average number of 24h txs.
It's not a major distraction, especially for BCH with its small ecosystem and community one of the things a wallet should do is encourage people to use it and engage with the community which is exactly what BChat does.
Existing NOSTR clients/community is pretty hardcore BTC only so good luck getting them to add BCH. And yes, getting Signal to support BCH would be huge but if you think getting them to add it is easier than developing BChat I think Selene/BChat devs would love to hear about it.
There's something to be said for an X like approach where only top level posts are shown, it's cleaner especially on a phone screen. Since the number of replies and likes are shown it's immediately clear which post are potentially worth tapping on and expanding.
Right now BChat's notification system isn't super reliable so it's beneficial to see pretty much everything so I know I don't miss a reply to my post/reply but other than that I usually know when I see a post whether I'm interested to see what other have to say about this, certainly no need to show multiple levels deep by default.
Looks like it's included in the latest update!
Great stuff! 🔥
I still have to use Firefox on a desktop machine to get the feed to fully load with all levels of replies and all but that hasn't been addressed yet right?
I'm puzzled as to why lots of stuff seems to be missing on the iPad, even with the Firefox app on iPad the feed is often incomplete.
Heard about it but not getting my hopes up of it significantly affecting the price but anything that potentially gets more press/eyeballs on BCH is a net positive.
Same thing happened to me yesterday. I rarely get any notifications at all actually but the fact that we're still using it and coming back means it will be so much better once those bugs get ironed out.
