Just loaded BChat and clicked the "184 new posts" notification at the top of where I was in the feed last time. Afterwards, I scrolled down until I felt like I was down far enough to hopefully be able to "catch up." Scrolling up showed each tier of each post as a top level post, so 3rd tier posts were seen as second tier and first tier during the scrolling. If this is adjustable in the settings, the default should probably be changed. Otherwise, consideration may be necessary regarding how this should look, because it makes the "show only posts and not replies" option that I saw discussed sound very enticing. Incidentally, it kinda feels like reddit in a not bad way, so while I don't mind the expanded look being default, I guess I might actually prefer to expand on my own even if the expanded look is improved. Could probably pre-load comments even if they aren't displayed...
