Have had two instances of umbrel lightning node crashing and not restarting in the past few months. Have had to uninstall/install/recover. Lose channels and have to start over costing sats. Using raspi. Anyone have suggestions? Have had it running for 5 years so I’m due for an upgrade I suppose.

Every zero required from the left of the hash reduces the number of potential correct hashes, while the total potential hashes remains the same. So the chance of finding one is exponentially reduced with each zero required.

How expensive will block 888,888 be?

ES has done enough and can now consolidate its economic, political, public safety and international standing gains. It’s no one’s permanent project except theirs. And they need time to deal with the real world.

The legal tender narrative was always garbage - bitcoin is real money; legal tender status is for derivative moneys, like Fed Reserve Notes. There was nothing then, and nothing now, regarding legal tender status of BTC.

Has anyone analyzed optimal relay strategy for NOSTR? I’m exploring a portfolio with solid paid relay augmented by 10-12 additional relays, including my own relay. How many is too many and why? Does it make sense to support a degree of centralization around a large paid relay, that provides a more robust experience, if you’ve sufficiently offset the risk with a portfolio of decentralized relays (while maintaining your own)?

Seeking to consolidate some wallets I’ve tried over the years into nostr:npub1xnf02f60r9v0e5kty33a404dm79zr7z2eepyrk5gsq3m7pwvsz2sazlpr5 embedded LND. Lightning payments resulted in a 2% fee in addition to network while on-chain was straight up. Did I miss something on LN?

People: LOL US government is auctioning all its seized bitcoin, what a bunch of morons!

Same people: they’re gonna fund SBR with seized bitcoin - gangster government!

I believe DOJ is required to auction seized assets so perhaps the “seized” BTC referenced will be purchased by the UST from the DOJ. Any clarification welcome!
