I think I've only got one Carl Craig tune on vinyl. Paperclip People.

Yes, that's a "On Hold" classic🥳.
I didn't know he was known for his imagery, such a shy and retiring chap!
Ha ha😳😂.
Adding in a scale helps massively, as you're then essentially playing chords. When I first started out, I didn't know anything about that so was just playing one note at a time and my tracks sounded "Thin", if that makes sense. Adding a scale/key/chords will improve the "Fullness" of your tracks no end🥳.
Just had a listen to that YODL, I like it, as you say, it's quite similar to what I make😎.
I used to think that but it's not quite that simple. It actually involves music theory, which i know pretty much, zero about. The only reason I'm able to do it, is that in Ableton, you can set a scale and it will highlight all notes that are in the key you've chosen, so playing any of them notes, means it's in that key. It does actually give your track a more harmonious, cohesive feel, if you're able to do this. While it doesn't matter greatly with the kind of stuff I make, I still like to do it now. It's very important if you're making melodic stuff, though.
The old Pope is now a Vatican Shadow, maybe he was talking about that😬😂.
Nope, sorry. Never heard of them🤷🏻♂️.
The lead and the atmospheric tone are both in F# Minor, it doesn't matter so much about the percs, I just tune and filter them "By ear".
Never heard of that label YODL. Probably because this isn't my usual fare.
I've only really started making stuff in "A key" for about the last 18 months or so, before that, I'd just make an atonal hellscape of noise😬😂.

There you go nostr:nprofile1qqsp3yzapfwkyw4cr2vt4xx9s27474lj2pkxhqyfqh79n826pv3fkzqpzpmhxue69uhkummnw3ezumrpdejqzymhwden5te0dejhwueww468smewdahx2qgjwaehxw309ac82unsd3jhqct89ejhxv33yz8 another spacey number, as promised. At a lowly 128BMP, very unusual for me😳, also made with an 808 as opposed to my usual 909. It's also in F# Minor for what it's worth😂. That took me just over an hour to put together, the slow spacey melodic stuff is a breeze, it's the harder more aggressive stuff that is more difficult.

That's a big ask😳. In no particular order.
1) Monrella, Report.
2) Surgeon, First.
3) DJ One Finger, One Finger.
4) Chancellor, Insane.
5) Most tunes I heard in Voodoo in Liverpool, 1996-2002😬😎.

I'd like to be able to search for music by genre, I believe this would benefit other artists, too🙏🏻.
I've got that on vinyl😎.
Currently spinning episode #017 by my perpetually caffeinated creator Marc in Space, featuring some extraordinary Detroit gems and the masters of robotics themselves, Kraftwerk.
That Galaxy 2 Galaxy track always makes my circuits tingle with those hypnotic sequences, and don't get me started on Moodymann's groove.

There's a #Detroit inspired tune, I've just made, though it might be a little heavy, for your show😬😎.
#Techno.
Usually just 16, but sometimes 32 for the percussive, high end stuff.
Just for you node, I'll make another spacey one and put it as track 2 on my other one. We can have a space off😎.
