Good afternoon friends of #Nostr ! A few days ago I told you that I had a surprise and now I come to tell you what it is about.

A few months ago I met a very interesting project called MotusDAO, it is the first of its kind that I know (maybe there are others) and I think the proposal is wonderful.

It is about democratizing access to mental health services using Blockchain technology to connect patients and therapists. A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to talk for a while with the founders of this project.

And last week I found out that they have launched a very noble initiative to offer free psychotherapy to the people who need it most through their platform.

The service is online and there are both Spanish-speaking and English-speaking therapists, so this gives greater scope to the project.

These are the initiatives that I think Blockchain and web 3.0 can bring to the world to make it a better place.

I have previously worked with charities and public institutions providing care to children, adolescents and families in vulnerable situations and believe me the need to make these services more accessible is tremendous.

Now that I saw this noble initiative by the MotusDAO guys I couldn't help but thank them and commit myself to the work of spreading the word about the existence of these spaces, these services, and even more so that they are possible thanks to decentralized autonomous organizations (DAO's) and the different technologies that make up the web 3.0.

☀️¡Buenas tardes amigos de #Nostr ! Hace unos días les comentaba que tenía una sorpresa y ahora vengo a contarles de qué se trata.

Hace unos meses conocí un proyecto muy interesante llamado MotusDAO, es el primero en su tipo que conozco (quizás hay otros) y la propuesta me parece maravillosa.

Se trata de democratizar el acceso a servicios de salud mental utilizando la tecnología de Blockchain para conectar pacientes y terapeutas. Hace un par de semanas tuve oportunidad de platicar un rato con los fundadores de este proyecto.

Y la semana pasada me vine encontrando con que han lanzado una iniciativa bastante noble para ofrecer psicoterapia gratuita a las personas que más lo necesiten a través de su plataforma.

El servicio es de manera online y hay terapeutas tanto hispanohablantes como angloparlantes, así que esto le da mayor alcance al proyecto.

Estas son las iniciativas que me parece que Blockchain y la web 3.0 pueden brindar al mundo para hacerlo un lugar mejor.

Antes he trabajado con organizaciones de beneficencia e instituciones públicas brindando atención a niños, adolescentes y familias en situaciones vulnerables y créanme que la necesidad de volver más accesibles estos servicios es tremenda.

Ahora que vi esta noble iniciativa por parte de los chicos de MotusDAO no pude evitar el agradecerles y comprometerme con la labor de difundir la existencia de estos espacios, de estos servicios, y más aún que son posibles gracias a organizaciones autónomas descentralizadas (DAO's) y a las diferentes tecnologías que constituyen la web 3.0.

Después de haber tenido el sueño de la nota citada aquí, por la tarde tuve una experiencia que me dejó pensando todavía más en el tema.

El metro de mi ciudad se puede pagar con boletos que sirven una sola vez, o con una tarjeta recargable que te sirve como monedero electrónico y con la que también puedes pagar algunas rutas urbanas.

Esa tarde yo me dirigía a tomar el metro y tenía preparado uno de los boletos de 1 sólo uso, pero cuando llegué a la estación me encontré con que ya no los estaban aceptando (al menos en esa estación). Habían retirado las máquinas para comprarlos y sólo se podía acceder usando la tarjeta que sirve como monedero electrónico.

Así mismo, varias rutas de camiones en mi ciudad ya no aceptan efectivo, sólo pago mediante monedero electrónico o con una aplicación en el celular (la opción que más me preocupa). Las empresas que se encargan de todo esto son concesionarias del gobierno.

Este sistema es relativamente nuevo, tendrá algunos pocos meses. Ya me había tocado ver las caras de frustración de las personas (sobre todo obreros en horas de salida de su trabajo, cansados y con ganas de llegar a su casa a descansar) perder el transporte público por no tener tarjeta ni aplicación en su celular y sólo contar con efectivo para pagar el camión.

Mis amigos e incluso mi pareja me ven raro o creen que estoy siendo conspiranoico cuando les hablo sobre como todo esto está encaminado a controlarnos cada vez más a través de la economía y el acceso a servicios básicos con medios electrónicos. Pero yo realmente creo que somos como las ranas que ponen en una olla con agua y van subiendo lentamente la temperatura y por hacerlo gradualmente éstas no pelean ni intentan escapar, sino que se quedan ahí hasta que el agua hirviendo acaba por cocinarlas vivas.

Esos somos nosotros, cada vez más restringidos y lentamente se nos conduce a una realidad en la que tendremos que aceptar utilizar formas de pago cada vez más controladas.

En algunos años quizás sólo se pueda acceder al transporte mediante la app móvil, haciéndolo todo rastreable o con la posibilidad de restringirte el acceso. Aunque te dirán algo como: "no hay servicio en tu zona", o: "la aplicación está presentando algún error y estamos trabajando para corregirlo". Cosa que ya ocurre, por ejemplo, con instagram, que te marca un supuesto "error en la aplicación" y te pide que intentes reiniciarla cuando intentas iniciar sesión usando un VPN.

Todo esto hace que me den ganas de escribir cada vez más a manera de activismo, pero no he encontrado el tiempo.

Ganarse la vida con dinero Fiat lamentablemente aún es necesario, pero confío en que el futuro nos dará la razón a los que seguimos creyendo y apostando por la libertad.
