Well-thought-out idea. And banks (if still existing but I don't think so) would be basically sitting on tons of gold with the value of rare Pokemon cards.

Once we have become an interplanetary species, #Gold's value will be just historic and numismatic amongst collectors. Its poor marketability through space cannot compete with #Bitcoin  which will allow individuals to transfer noble value instantly.
