So, you've protected your #Bitcoin seed words with 2nd-factor security.
eg. passphrase, multisig, etc...
...but you still want to know if anyone has sneaked a peek at them?
This is why we provide tamper-proof labels with every BitPLATES Domino plate.

If the price of #gold, #silver & #Bitcoin is set by the "market" on exchanges...
Is Bitcoin the only asset with a realistic chance of finding a true market value with peer-to-peer (P2P) exchanging?
P2P can be as much as 20% above "spot" price. ๐ค
#PeertoPeer #P2P #NoKYC

If you split 24 seed words in two, each half is protected by 128-bit security.
Plate 1 = words 1-12
Plate 2 = words 13-24
Store plates (& copies) in different locations.
This is by far the most 'non-technical' #Bitcoin multi-factor security, or 2FA (two-factor authentication).

Almost 12 hours later and the voting on Twitter/X is heavily weighted in favour of Trezor...
Does anyone on Nostr have an opinion?
Thanks ๐
Bitcoin is the only asset that comes with built-in 'plausible deniability'.
1. Keep a small amount of sacrificial #Bitcoin in a wallet created with ONLY seed words.
2. Keep your main funds secure in a secret wallet created with seed words + passphrase (must store separately).
Nostr is becoming more of a necessity than a luxury.
How much #gold would you need to buy to have the equivalent % of total world supply of owning one #bitcoin (ie. 1 out of 21,000,000 bitcoins)?
Answer: 1/21,000,000th of 210,000 tonnes (or 6,750,000,000 troy oz)
= 306 troy oz
= $979,200 worth of gold
(at $3,200 per troy oz)

Preserving your #Bitcoin seed words on metal doesn't get any easier than this...

Just started using #Amethyst client for #Nostr on my Android device.
It's a better experience than other clients I've used before. ๐

Does anyone have any idea about why my zap doesn't work?
I've tried updating my Ln URL on Iris and Amethyst, but nothing seems to work.
One of our busiest days with orders finally packed up and ready for shipping in the morning.
Thank you to everyone who has ever supported us. ๐
#Bitcoin preferred.

If you found it, you couldn't take any #Bitcoin without knowing the other half of the private key.
Every backup plate should only ever have half of your your private key.
Either 12 of the 24 seed words (128-bit security), or seed words without the passphrase (up to 128-bit security depending on the strength of the passphrase).
Without giving too much away, there are literally hundreds of places to hide 3mm flat metal plates. ๐
#Bitcoin backup

I'd always recommend that you never take anything #Bitcoin-related through an airport.
Each metal backup plate is important for preserving a permanent physical record of (half of) your private key. ie. Half of your 24 seed words on one plate, and the other half on another plate, hidden in a different geographical location.
For 24 seed words, this provides 128-bit security for each half.
When traveling anywhere, you could email yourself 12 seed words (with an encrypted email account for belt and braces. eg. Protonmail), then do the same with the other seed words on a completely unrelated device, and unrelated email account.
If anyone views either half of your private key, they can't do anything without the other half.
NB. Splitting 12 seed words in two is a lot less secure (64-bit per half).

Why store your #Bitcoin seed words on a solid metal plate?
1. A solid piece of metal is robust.
2. Multiple small pieces could result in permanent loss of data if separated.
3. Screw-close mechanisms could become permanently sealed shut if galling or cold-welding occurs over time.

Bulletproof your Bitcoin with self-custody.

We have now sent Bitcoin backup plates to 62 different countries around the world! ๐
I know there's still a lot more to add, but I think self-custody is really catching on. ๐คฏ
