Quoting my post on Mastodon... I am excited for this Persona 3 remaster, but I hope they are bold in making improvements to the social links and over world. I will work on an article going through the changes and fixes that I want to see.

In a new article, I describe how I used the Nostr Verify plugin for WordPress to verify my Nostr profile with my WordPress profile, starting from generating my Nostr keypair and concluding with the plugin configuration. If you run a self-hosted WordPress site and do not want to do it manually, the lightweight plugin works as expected.

I enjoy my coffee while looking out my window at the hazy sky in Brooklyn, NY. The scene makes me sentimental (or sedimental?) for a scene from one of my favorite games, Persona 4. Persona 4 not only featured a foreboding fog, but also a heartwarming family scene which may have involved a father giving his 6-year old daughter coffee on a school night. I of course covered that scene in a 2020 article.

I just figured out how it works yesterday. Alex Gleason (developer of Soapbox) runs a Activity Pub-Nostr bridge. Look for Mostr in the list of relays (I found it on Coracle) and add it. After I added it to my relay list, I was able to find my Nostr profile on Mastodon and my Mastodon profile on Nostr within about 15-30 minutes. See link below.

I'll add that on the Nostr end, it sometimes shows that I am following my Nostr from Mastodon and sometimes not - not sure why that is. But thus far all of my posts have shown up on both sides in the end.

I learned about highlighter.com shortly after making my Nostr account today. I had written recently about how I like hypothes.is, but am wary of its centralization. I decided to test highlighter on my most recent article, seems to work very well.

(Test note) I think that a well-curated feed collection is a good alternative to social media for reading on the web. In touting feeds as an alternative, it is important to make a positive case for feeds (a good feed reader + read-it-later solution) instead of simply making the negative case against social media.
I used the Nostr Directory to sign my Mastodon and Twitter accounts after setting up my WordPress site as the NIP-05 identifier. Pretty cool and easy to use. Only issue I had was initially using the npub key instead of the hex version for Mastodon. I'll add GitHub soon and call it a day.

My daily driver phone is a Pixel 3a XL running LineageOS. I only use open source apps. My default launcher is TinyBit launcher, which is available on F-Droid. TinyBit is primarily a search-powered launcher. Sometimes I want to take a full survey of my apps. For that purpose, I use Keikai Launcher, which is both a minimalist launcher and an alternative app drawer which can complement a different default launcher (likely useful on locked down devices such as the newer Kindle Fires). See my review and related links below.

I had been interested in giving Nostr a go for a few weeks. I finally took the plunge when I saw that there is now a WordPress plugin (maintained by an Automattic employee) which makes it easy to use a WordPress profile to verify a Nostr account using NIP-05. As you can see on my profile, the plugin worked exactly as expected. If you have a self-hosted WordPress-powered site, you can try Nostr verification for yourself. I look forward to posting more from nafnlj@thenewleafjournal.com.
