- You own your identity

- Your speech stands on its own

- You can run your own everything

- You own and control your social graph

- You are free to say and do anything, but you are not free from consequences (non-repudiation of cryptographic signatures)

- You can proof realness via proof-of-work, either directly or indirectly

- Proof-of-work is what allows you to successfully combat bots, spam, and trolls, as it brings real cost to destructive actions

- Ownership and realness allows you to build and curate webs of trust, which allows for canonicality without central authority

yeah, i honestly can't really say how much of a good idea it is because it resembles many other forms of consensus i've seen and i think it is reinventing the wheel because it could be implemented with RGB

yes, paying for services is a big interest of mine which is why you'll find the term NIP-42 repeatedly in my notes, because almost no clients actually implement it properly and fully

i'm working on a relay that properly supports it but actually testing this feature is currently nearly impossible... the client implementations are very very patchy

getting more clients to fully support NIP-42 is critical to enabling pay-per-use and subscription models and modular storage back ends and search engine systems as they call them DVMs

until this support is widespread we are all depending on donations and grants and investors paying devs to build

there is a problem in the nostr dev culture that sprung out of the coming of jack and opensats that needs to be moved on from, the whole point of this system is exactly making it self-funded, as i see it

I know a bunch of nostr people here to have a chat. However, my in fiat life it is hard to convince people to use nostr and nostr ecosystem tools. It needs time, and when the time comes yes 0xChat will be the one of the best options. Thanks so much.

🇩🇪 Both the European Parliament and the German Armed Forces Bundeswehr use the US conference platform #Webex. In the #Taurus #wiretapping affair, this was fatal for many reasons:

🤦 End-to-end encryption #E2EE was not activated and is barely supported by Webex

🤦 Analog telephone dial-in from abroad is of course easy to intercept

🤦 Obviously no check of who was dialed in, spoofing easy

🤦 US providers can always be intercepted by the US (without #E2EE)

Now or never: We need a communication sovereignty offensive that makes open, self-operated, metadata-saving and securely #E2EE encrypted communication a normality! Mr Bundeskanzler, Ms EP President, take it from here please!
