I'm not saying I'm pro BIP119. Haven't studied it deeply enough either.
But it seems to me like drivechains benefits are not as large while introducing something I'm not convinced we need.
But it is a fair point, I should compare these BIPs more.
I believe this is solved potentially also by ARK?
I don't understand drivechains enough either.
But I have a simple question to all drivechain proponents.
Tell me one use-case that we need on #bitcoin and that we can't resolve by standard L2s which would justify the protocol change.
The discussion is cirlcing around miners incentives, potentially unknown risks to the protocol, etc. But I want to know what it brings that we actually need and want on bitcoin. Because I can't think of anything...
And if that is the case, then it really is just dangerous, meaningless messing with miners' incentives and potentially unwanted consequences to the protocol.
I heard from multiple sources that it could bring sidechain with great privacy. In my opinion this can be resolved on L2 or with combination of CoinJoin and L2. I don't see need for ultra private sidechain.
But I am waiting to get educated.

I was socialist. Retrospectively, there is no denying it. My political opinions were definitely on the socialist side of spectrum.

Musk on many occasions said that the most entertaining outcome is the most likely. Often in relationship to Dogecoin.
Well, it seems kind of entertaining how so many people does not see how his all encompassing X corp is bringing world closer to dystopian, Orwell like world.
I wonder how come that some really smart people, much smarter than me, good, with pure intentions actually do wholeheartedly believe and propagate shitcoins. Help me understand. 🤔🧡🙏
I'm not sure if I would have mental fortification strong enough to not tell her some joke about it, hoping it would get her thinking.
I need to probably enchant my Scroll of Mental Power, upgrade my Shield Against Idiocy and put some points into my Armor Against Brainwashed.
Exactly. It's about finding the sweet spot between respecting the state officials to the extent they don't ruin your life while maintaining your principles and being able to look into the mirror every morning.

How we live our lives is based on incentives around us.
#bitcoin creates healthy incentives, by following which we improve the quality of our lives, our surroundings, and ourselves."
Fiat does the opposite.
I think SEC is evil. I'm not an altcoiner but here's how I see it.
If people freely decide to engage/invest in highly risky or even scammy project, it's their choice and most importantly they at least have a chance of cashing out. Maybe they will get completely rugged. Maybe they'll cash out 50% in loss, maybe they'll time it right and grab some profit, who knows. But they have a fighting chance.
What SEC does is they let these projects to get created and widely used. And then they kill them and effectively send price of whatever shitcoin token to 0. Their investor protection basically means that everybody who invested gets nothing. And creators of the scam get an easy way out. They simply pay laughable fine and go away while keeping people's money while saying they can't continue because SEC shut down their centralized project.
So while I'd appreciate that these shitcoin projects wouldn't even see the light of the day, SEC in my opinion is making things only worse right now.
