getting better.... gatekeepers are trying to gatekeep the riffraff but it seems like the riffraff are gaining critical mass
In his Take from Wednesday, Shinobi argued that the surge of institutional bitcoin adoption will lead to premature ossification of the Bitcoin protocol. While I share his concern to an extent, I am less convinced this is necessarily true.

“If a protocol upgrade makes Bitcoin (say) more scalable or more private, there is actually good reason to think this would make Bitcoin more valuable”
This would make bitcoin more useful to many people but not valuable to Harold who just wants to hodl IBIT. It becomes less interesting to the financial institutions who would prefer to keep themselves as the intermediaries. Privacy and scalability also open bitcoin up to political attack by Elizabeth Warren etc, something that could hold price down. There is a relationship between privacy/ scalability and institutional interest, and I don’t think it’s clear at all that it’s a positive correlation.
Please tell me this is just a exit liquidity pump for Charles and not anything that might happen IRL

Read up on Matt Gaetz
The people you are describing are real and there's lots of them. I've spent a lot of time getting blocked on Bluesky (and getting called Nazi, transphobe, etc) for telling these folks to take it down a notch, precisely because of what has happened, people voted against the morons on the left without even considering who they're handing power over to. . So I'm not going to argue with you there. But I have no idea what you're talking about when you say these people have permeated the establishment in any sort of material way. The left worked Kamala for 4 months just to say the word "fascist" out loud.
But this all starts and ends when you just decide the other side is full of bad people. It's very polite of you not to call them immoral, but lumping them all into one horrible bin isn't much different.
"The process of becoming this crazy and brainwashed legit deserves a thorough analysis."
Yes, this begins with focusing all of your attention on the worst attributes on the other side. She probably spent the last years thinking all conservatives were Nazis. Now the way to not fall into this trap yourself is to not focus your time on the worst the other side has to offer.
The different between the right and left at this point is that this person would never make it anywhere within the power structure of the Democratic party, whereas if she supported Trump he would make sure to make her Secretary of the Interior or some shit.
Just imagine Kamala had won and she nominated our random tiktok girl to AG and everyone on the left was like "yeah she's stupid and uneducated and unqualified but she's angry at the same things I'm angry at so cool "
Let's definitely talk about random tiktok chick and not the fact that Trump just nominated MATT FUCKING GAETZ as the Attorney General .
The most bothersome thing about NGU is the fact that your ability to predict something like is pretty much proportional to your ability to universalize greed. The folks who saw this playing out first are at the very tip of the greed iceberg, most people thought, "why would I hoard this 'money' if I'm not actually going to use it anytime soon?"
