Has anyone ever been in a recently detailed car and wondered why just-greasy-enough-to-shine plastic surfaces are perceived to be clean? Solid surfaces that have the feeling of an oily sheen are (to me) on the “heckin’ gross” end of the clean/non-clean axis.

(Strangely, I find that this sensation does not apply to lubricated metal parts.)
