Today is the eighth anniversary of the time I put the dishes away without telling my wife.

I've been eating these delicious morsels of goodness my entire life. I fed them to my grandchildren when they were toddlers (minus the red peppers). My doctor is not real fond of the 3/4 cup of salt part of the recipe, so I'll probably dial that back the next time I make a batch.

The British method of making baked potatoes is far superior to the weak American efforts at wrapping them in tinfoil and steaming them in the oven. The Brits call them jacket potatoes and cook the things for a couple of hours at a high temperature. The outcome is flaky and light.

Today is the anniversary of what I remember as the hardest day of hiking that we spent on the #AppalachianTrail. One of my granddaughters has been watching the Tour de France every summer since she was this old (note the shirt). She's in high school now and has been to the race in person twice.
