The idea that you can "earn money" by trading is a bit weird. Strictly speaking, you aren't creating any value, you're taking it from others. If there's a certain amount of fiat and Bitcoin deposited at an exchange, their totals don't change as a result of your trades. Value just sloshes around from user to user depending on their needs and strategies. Trading, then, is more like a game of poker - some strategy, some luck, but the real value being played for came from outside the game.

I say this because I see young guys getting into trading at the expense of gaining other skills. Sure, some get very rich, but it was at the expense of someone else at the table, not because they created that value.

Do or create something that people need, get paid for it, and get it into Bitcoin. This way, you create and preserve that value.

Orange-pilled a young Uber driver today. He realised himself that putting fiat away, even into a savings account, was like staying in the same place and actually more like going backwards. Watching the penny drop was fun.

Looks like they went to the Samouari features list and made each bullet point illegal

One of our leading exchanges here, Valr, just announced a partnership with Visa. This is after they announced parterning with a big retailer to use their internal payment solution, not Lightning.

I guess we should know that exchanges aren't here to help realise a Bitcoin standard, only rentseek and enable status quo. Exchanges are going to become like banks and payment switches for the existing Visa economy, and your Bitcoin balance is just a database entry and a fiat value you're allowed to draw down on. Sad.

Get your Bitcoin off of exchanges, and orange pill your favourite merchants!

The way you Americans pull billions out of the air on a regular basis is quite something

Think we need to put a #bitcoin node onto a spacecraft and yeet that thing to outer space, just in case

"Move fast and break things" alive and well at Twitter

Was wondering what happened to Nitter πŸ˜‚

My banking app is now encouraging me to use it to book doctors appointments. Feels like all the big companies and banks here are starting to realise there's a race on to create an "everything" app before someone else does

Spotify doesn't recognise when I've broken up with a song. Like "People you might know", I'm haunted by songs I used to like. Un-liking a song needs to be taken seriously.

Would be nice to create a new post directly from the profile page, instead of having to double back to Home first. Also would be nice if while visiting another profile, I can create a new post that mentions them directly
