Whoever is in charge of product or UX over at Google really needs a boot. Aside from the Workspace stuff being surprisingly bad on Windows compared to the Office suite, basic things like, since they already show your contacts birthdays in your calendar on Android, why not show their age at the same time?

The more social media sites that show up, and the more spread out things get, the better. People will eventually realise it doesn't make much sense that there are so many alternatives to doing the same thing, and that each site is really just a different UX over the same core thing, and this "core" doesn't need to be owned by anyone, and should live alongside our ability to communicate and send money.
That said, WhatsApp is going to try and rugpull everything, and become a social media app itself, and then become like WeChat, and allow money transfers. Mobile telecom companies are trying to get there at the same time, but if WhatsApp builds it in, it's game over for everyone else.
