A prediction:
Currently government rebates incentivise mono-cropping rather than regenerative agriculture, and as a result, the land is destroyed and the general population are fed empty foods and toxic seed oils - because there's little nutrition in mono-crops they need to consume more and they become overweight whilst still being malnourished. At the same time, more and more pesticides and fertilizers must be used to continue production since animals are removed from the ecosystem.
This is a direct result of government intervention and working against nature.
This we already know.
Now, I think this is unsustainable and has a short fuse due to rising cost of production and government rebates being removed. Farmers will be quickly incentivised by increasing energy demand to pivot (or sell out their land) to massive solar farms, which arguably is far worst for the environment.
Farmers need to think more long term and embrace regenerative agriculture to reduce the cost of doing business, diversify their production and encourage better market practices like farm-to-table.
This two pronged approach will repair the health of the general population by fixing their nutrition and their environment. Two things that major corporations don't want to see.
Shake a ranchers hand and talk to them about low time preference.
