You said "the role of nuclear was as a piece of culture war to win an election". You're implying that the government never intended to go forward with nuclear buildup. Which is a curious conclusion, given that the government is an amalgamation of four different parties, each with its own agenda.

I really enjoyed their conversation and appreciate Kevin's honesty and candor. He recognizes himself and the whole scientific and engineering community as part of the top 10% earners, responsible for half of all GHG emissions. He said many of his colleagues "sweeten the pill" when talking about pathways and described them as "mitigation deniers".
