I also think the US army pre WWI only had around 100,000 troops and no offshore bases. Unlike the UK and Germany, the Navy didn't get caught up in the Dreadnought building craze either. There was little to no welfare, roading network Gvt pensions, public healthcare or education system either. All the Government really had to pay for was the post office (and that pretty much paid for itself anyway) . Bring back the good old days I say!

NZ banned "assault rifles" after the 2019 Christchurch Mosk shooting (carried out by a mentally unstable Australian immigrant).
Legal law abiding licensed gun owners were subjected compulsory government purchase of their weapons.
Shortly after this gun crime went through the roof.
Now, our wonderful all-wise socialist Government has decided confiscating everyone's legal property didn't go far enough and has set up a gun registry, (which of course doesn't include any illegal weapons).
Now someone has finally done the research and discovered the facts we all knew:
"most violent offenders nationwide use either cutlery or blunt instruments such as helmets, boots and fists."
I guess it's time to set up a national cutlery register, maybe compulsorily amputate peoples hands, ban boots? Probably more effective than a bloody gun register.

Great concept, execution is somewhat lacking though. The "crease" is a big turnoff for me. The Pixel fold looks promising but it is way too expensive. At the moment there are too many compromises to make for too much money. Once they get under $600 then I might be tempted.

Holy crap! I had no idea they were still finding these enormous bombs all over England today. I was on the Southend pier in 2000, little did I know there was a 1000 pound bomb virtually under my feet. Incredible no one has been killed dredging them up from the sea.
Looks like my neighbour has his work cut out for him with this little project.
