A better way of looking at the last 2 is "how many years of life can you buy per dollar vs how many can the military industrial complex"
It seems like extending lives is more expensive than shortening them, and killing is more profitable than saving these days
Have you ever done the math on:
• What your profit margin is on your economic activity
• What the military industrial complex profit margin is on your economic activity
• How much profit you need to save 1 life
• How much profit the military industrial complex needs to kill 1 more person
Being born in between the UNIX epoch and world war 3, being frugal and prudent means minimizing economic activity until far into or after the war. Especially in the US where I live and all economic activity is harshly dealt with. The colder your Bitcoin is in this period of time, and the less you participate in the rush to destroy natural resources, the more potential future wealth for you and everyone else.
Nostr isn't really that decentralized and is definitely extra-censored, not censorship-resistant. You need to think more
A raspberry pi seems much less secure than a trezor to me
Like, how does it do HDMI? That's a proprietary version of displayport right? And if it has a general-purpose GPU, don't all of those use proprietary code too?
Most importantly, since the system wasn't designed to hold crypto, there is zero-party accountability. If the raspberry pi manufacturer or their parts manufacturers decide to take your coins and you shoot up an office over it, you just look like a dick because you don't know if the people in that office had anything to do with it. All you know is you used a device for something very risky that it wasn't designed for and it went badly. The manufacturers of trezor have taken responsibility for making a crypto wallet and they have incentive to make sure the device they work on doesn't steal my coins so there's no scenario where my coins disappear and I shoot a trezor employee and instead of a villain I'm a hero to all the other trezor victims.

I consistently seem to be the only person on nostr talking about the fact that the COVID pandemic isn't over.
When I was on nostr with a different npub a year ago, I was the only person.
When I came back with this npub, I started searching the word "pandemic" every week or so and digging through all the results. There were 0 nostr users saying the pandemic wasn't over. There was a nonzero number of mastodon users with their posts showing up on nostr saying the pandemic wasn't over.
Most of it has been spam bots flooding the search results with propaganda links via RSS feeds and mastodon accounts. There are now too many of these spam posts to dig through. It would be too labor-intensive to keep up anymore. Still, when I do my searches and dig through as many results as I can, the few blips of pandemic awareness come from Mastodon.
What the fuck is going on? Are there other people being censored on nostr, not showing up in my search results, meaning I'm just the first one smart and lucky enough to start establishing a presence and push through the censorship? Or is there some clever group perception management going on here where my posts don't load for most people but they load for me and enough people to stop me from noticing? Or am I the only adult human with internet access in an anglosphere full of insane children too busy with herd mentality to finish developing individual worldviews?
TLDR - pandemic deniers, please stop. Mastodon users and other free speech deniers, please stop. Any adults out there other than me, please show up ffs.
