You’re wrong. BTC mining os far more centralized than Monero’s. All that is need is couple of governments to seize BTC ASIC-based mining farms and the people with their CPUs and GPUs won’t stand a chance, government will own more than 51% of the hashrate.

Meanwhile, Monero uses RandomX where no single entity has an unbalanced advantage by having specialized hardware. If BTC was a menace, mining farms would have already been seized and BTC de-listed. Only Monero could is a threat.

Yeah, its the best thing to come out of lightning. Let us hope a stress test at scale and usage velocity does not bring out the flaws of the underlying infra, like a pig with lipstick.

I kept looking. Stumbled upon Phoenix chat but could never get it to work, and the same with Element/Matrix. I never got the motivation to build it myself, but I might have attempted eventually.

It's the same with Bitcoin. I thought that money needed to be decentralized. I saw how credit card processors were the always middle man who would basically have half the money after just 20-30 transactions, and I thought to myself "psshhh! It's just a ledger! I can do better than that!" Then I found bitcoin and was like "dang! He beat me to it..."

Perhaps you could make a new specific comment event called “context” or “aside” which basically starts a a sub thread on a given event about the context of that comment, as opposed to continuing the in line conversation. This could be used as a community note, or any other type of context appropriately.

We already cannot guarantee that all the notes are read by all your followers. If you add edits to the mix, it becomes a shit show and a half.

Nostr addresses censorship by relays themselves. But if all involved organizations wanted it, and it's a closed market, they could censor all DNS names and IP addresses used by Nostr relays.

Obviously this is hard and unlikely, which is why Nostr does provide (some level of) censorship resistance.
