IVPN is a sovereign, bootstrapped VPN service in operation since 2009. BTC + LN accepted via BTCPay. resist online surveillance.

Latest release of IVPN for Desktop (v.3.15.0) is out with Custom DNS and stability improvements. You can now specify multiple custom DNS servers with optional DoH support.

This post confirms a change to the signature and pubkey for our Warrant Canary due to the renewal of expired subkey. We have published our new canary for September today, and will release new versions on the first Tuesday of every month going forward.

We have deployed new gateways to expand capacity in two popular IVPN locations:

be2 - Brussels / Belgium - 1 Gbps

dk2 - Copenhagen / Denmark - 1 Gbps

Provider: Datapacket

WireGuard Public key, OBFS4 and SOCKS5 details available on our server status page:

Feature wise it is matching the basics of competing services (alias creation, catch-all aliases, PGP). Two clear advantages we can see vs. others is on the trust side -> 1. fully open source: https://github.com/ivpn/mailx 2. audited - results will be published on Monday.

You need a Pro account with at least 1 year of paid time remaining - if you have less, DM us!

We are launching an email aliasing/forwarding service - mailx is now available for beta testing. First invites are out for IVPN Pro users with 1+ year time on their account. Log in on ivpn.net and navigate to Mailx beta tab to get started.

We have 5 IVPN vouchers to give away to privacy-minded folks here on Nostr. If you are not eligible or don't have an IVPN account but want to test mailx, message us via DM here or email us -> trial at ivpn.net.

Opsec warnings before you reach out:

1. Nostr DMs can reveal the fact you messaged us through unencrypted metadata (depends on client used)

2. We will send you an individual voucher code, which in theory could be used to tie your IVPN account ID with your email or nostr npub. In practice, we don't do this - we store the redeemed voucher code for 30 days for account recovery purposes (default process for vouchers).

On our roadmap, but not been prioritised yet - later this year most likely. Can you share why you consider this important & are you OK with reduced speed which is a likely side effect? Thanks.

We are looking for a System and Network Administrator to maintain and scale our network of VPN servers and related infrastructure. The position is fully remote, open to applicants based in time zones UTC−1 to UTC+3. Details and application form: https://www.careers-page.com/ivpn/job/L67WWWY5

IVPN infrastructure has been expanded with a new gateway in Buenos Aires, Argentina - ISP: Datapacket.

Visit our Server Status page for more information: https://ivpn.net/status/

Due to planned maintenance Bitcoin payments will be temporarily unavailable on ivpn.net for a brief period from 6am UTC tomorrow (25 Feb). Once completed, both on-chain and LN payments will be reinstated as payment options.

please recommend a reliable way to do LN testnet payments

our previous method for this fails now, looking for solutions

If that is the case telling another user on a censorship resistant protocol that they cannot utilise it because their technical choices don’t align with your expected outcome might not be a good next action.
