Main issue here is that the UK gave away Chagos Islands because it was becoming a route for illegal immigration to the UK, which is not the case for the Falklands. Also the islands are more important strategically to the US than to the UK to launch military operations in the Middle East! But Argentina will forever claim las Islas Malvinas
